Do animals go to heaven, if not, why not?

Excuse me? I'm pretty sure Revelations is a book in the Bible.

He seems to be bothered (and seemingly rather petty) because it's called the Book of the Revelation or just the Revelation--there's no 's'. "Revelations" is a common misnomer.

I wonder what the Jews would call it

Matt 4:16 The people, the one-sitting in darkness perceived a light, great.
And/also to-the ones-sitting in part and shadow of death, a light springs-up to-them.
[Isaiah 60:2,3/John 1:4]

Luke 2:32 A light into an un-veiling/apo-kaluyin <602> of Nations and glory of people of Thee Israel

Revelation 1:1 An un-veiling/apo-kaluyiV <602> of Jesus Christ, which gives to him, the God, to show to His bond-servants, which-things is binding to be becoming in swiftness.
And He signifies commissioning thru the messenger of Him, to the bondservants of Him, John.

Revelation 19: 11 & 14

11"And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. "

14"And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean."

Yes, there most certainly are animals in heaven. The Book of Enoch goes into greater detail about the animals in heaven, and how the souls of the abused animals will stand before God and give a testimony against the people who abused them on earth.

Animals will also have part in the new earth.

Isaiah 11:6-9

"In that day the wolf and the lamb will live together; the leopard will lie down with the baby goat. The calf and the yearling will be safe with the lion, and a little child will lead them all. The cow will graze near the bear. The cub and the calf will lie down together. The lion will eat hay like a cow. The baby will play safely near the hole of a cobra. Yes, a little child will put its hand in a nest of deadly snakes without harm. Nothing will hurt or destroy in all my holy mountain, for as the waters fill the sea, so the earth will be filled with people who know the LORD."

Animals do not have eternal souls / spirits, so no they don't. Only humans are made in God's image, so only we survive death intrinsically.

Oh really? I just showed, using the Bible, where there are animals in heaven.

Can you show, using the Bible, there there are not?

No, you can't. Thank you.

If something is alive, Biblically, it must have a soul.

If something doesn't have a soul, according to both right-believing Christians and Jews, it isn't alive.

Since other animals besides humans are alive, they must have souls.

I agree with the others that animals have souls, but they were not made in His Image, so therefore, they are not immortal. They do not carry on after they die on earth. There will, however, be animals in His Kingdom when it's transformed - new heaven and earth just as there were animals in Eden at the beginning, is my belief.

On a side note, I'm a HUGE animal lover. I love my animals and all animals. I wish to see my pets in heaven, but I am not counting on it or putting too much hope in it. I trust in God that all will be fine - Animals and Mankind.

I'd agree there will be animals, just not the same ones who died before. OTOH, there will be people and they will be the same ones. Job's restoration is the example of this.

IIRC, Job had 7 children and 10,000 oxen and 10,000 sheep. They all died in the testing. When God restored him, He doubled it. Job had 7 children and 20,000 oxen and 20,000 sheep. The other children continued to exist, but not the former animals.

When it comes to animals, all im interested is seeing the horses of fire and the other creatures up there...that would be so cool.

"And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, [there appeared] a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven." 2 Kings 2:11

Heaven is AWESOME!!!

Forgive me for starting yet another thread, but this is something I've been wondering about since I was a child, and I would love to get different opinions and perspectives on it. As a big animal lover, I always found it troubling when I heard various places that animals do not go to heaven. Is this Biblical? And if they don't, why don't they go to heaven, aren't they God's creations as well? Finally, where do they go if not heaven? I've heard it say that they don't have souls (which I strongly disagree with, if there is such a thing as a soul, animals have them as much as we do). Should they be cast into hell for not being human and thus having no way of understanding the Gospel?
According to the Bible, animals do go to Heaven. ...
even the goldfish. :)

RO 8:18 I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. 19 The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed. 20 For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope 21 that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God.

The "creation" in v.19 includes all animals.

Once "man" (Adam and Eve) fell, they dragged the whole thing with them. Animals and other things were given to them to manage.

Christ came for people.

Once people (not all) are redeemed, the whole creation will follow them from "decay" to the eternal place in Heaven.

So ... all dogs do go to Heaven ... and none go to Hell.

... Biblically speaking, that is. :)

In Christ,
Ed

There are three types of Life on Earth. Starting with the lowest.

1.Plant has a Body
2.Animal has a Soul(emotion, mind, will) & Body
3. Man has a Spirit, Soul and Body.

A plant dies and the body of the plant being organic returns to dust.

A animal dies and the body returns to dust, the soul ceases to exist.

A man dies and the body returns to dust, the spirit and soul almost immediately proceeds to either heaven or hell depending on if the person was born again or not.

Hence why I said "eternal" soul / spirit, not just soul or spirit. Even non-living things have a "spirit" but that doesn't mean they will exist in some form after they expire in a new plane of existence.

Oh really? I just showed, using the Bible, where there are animals in heaven.

No, you can't. Thank you.

Where does it say they are made in God's image and likeness? Nowhere.

No one is denying animals exist in heaven. Who says, however, that they were the souls / spirits of animals who lived on this earth? I highly doubt they were.

God is a Creator. Creators create things. I'm sure heaven is filled with things we have no clue or comprehension of. That is a far cry from Lassie being in heaven because Timmy misses her. (Which is not to say that God, or even ourselves, would be incapable of resurrecting said animals if we desired to see them. God is good.) But I flat out reject any notion of immortality among animal spirits / souls. That is just wishful thinking on our parts.
