So much bitterness and insults over buttons. Who knew?

And it’s over ONLY POSITIVE buttons. Imagine the nightmare if we had a palette of mean ones to work with!

Well thanks for the laughs, most of my frustrations have been vented and what stays on the books stays on the books. Till next time.
Thanks again jahel. I got to get some of my frustrations out as well.

You know, like maybe if you posted something about being a happy and fulfilled person as a Catholic, and someone rated it "prayers" as if you needed praying for?
but I need praying for.....so its ok...because I was lying about being happy. actually an 'over-optimistic icon" would be best. double rainbow?

The "Useful" and "Optimistic" ratings might not need to be kept though, since they're not used very much.
I use the 'useful' rating quite a bit when someone has said something that adds interest to a discussion even though I may not completely agree or disagree with what they have posted.

I do that a lot, too.

I have thought that there should be an "interesting" button -- as in, "you said something interesting that I never thought of before, even though I'm not sure I agree with you". Maybe I could use "useful" for that.

There should then be a sorry button and a disagree button so the full spectrum of opinions is available. Those who disagree are not being represented unless they post as such.
they would be abused too much but I do think a disagree button would be useful. Perhaps a way to please everyone is the person posting could turn it off for their post or only allow certain ones and be able to set a specific option as their default or even allow custom naming/icons, that last part would be cool.

That might trigger a bit of a response-ability

I really like the buttons. Saves time and prevents a lot of meaningless "Hear, hear" posts.
I agree. i especially like this one ---->

Anyway, I think the buttons are here to stay as is. We all just need to toughen up to get through our trauma with the buttons. ;) First world problem for sure. Lol!

....i've always thought that a "hug" icon would be wunnerful,

HUG.gif

and a "joy" icon, indicating that someone's post was a joy to read and/or caused the reader "joy"...
