  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Well, we could start in Oregon if you like and then decide to go either clockwise or anti-clockwise. Depends on where I buy my truck, I guess. If I was taking this once-in-a-lifetime roadtrip, I'd be sure to see as much as possible.

I'm don't really have a favourite sports team, but if the Az Cardinals are playing then I might watch for the outcome. To be honest though, I'm fickle when it comes to teams.
Sounds great! Let me know when to be ready.:D

When did you accept Christ?

Well, it took awhile for me come round, but was the summer of 2005 and since then my love for Jesus has been growing. It feels good to belong to something that is ultimately beyond our physical existance.

Plus it's almost like having an instant bond with a complete stranger, a fellow believer. That's something I appreciate. For example, we seem to be getting along quite nicely.:)

We are, i'm enjoying getting to know you.:) No matter that it took a while, long as you know Him. And yeah, I like that instant bond with believers as well, kind of amazing.

What's your church like, my other friend there goes to a baptist I believe, if i'm remembering right. He lives in Kent.

Well, I'm still fairly new to this Church, but whilst I'm their, the most I get out of it is turning my mind to God. It quite a big congregation so it may take some time before I'm recognised as a regular. Regardless, I always feel "refreshed" after having been their. It's all part of my growth and I'm enjoying it, so in time I'm sure I'll be able to add more detail to this question.

I know what you mean. It will take time for me as well to really get to know people and know the ins and outs. But it doesn't matter, take all the time you need to get to know Him personally.

Are you in school? If not, do you have a degree? I saw your pix, but I am not sure if it was your sister graduating or you now.

Have you taken the TGV to Paris?

What is Joseph Fiennes up to these days (Shakespeare in Love)? Sorry, had to ask. :D

Looks like a very nice church, impressive! I'm sure you'll be known as a regular soon.:)

Do you ever just go in and pray thru the week?

It was my sister garduating in that pic. During my school years (8 to 16), I suffered from dyslexia and didn't get on very well at school. It was mainly my writing speed that suffered the most and therefore the teachers and my peers accused me of being slow, which wasn't great. I had spent time at college studying motor mechanics and even considered a military career, for awhile. I've not been to university, so I don't have a degree.

I've spent some time in retail and the motor trade and now I'm self-employed, using Clickbank as an Affiliate Marketer. When I was younger, I really couldn't settle on one route that I wanted to go down, career wise, but at least now I have a means to support myself, whilst figuring out who I am and how I can be a better man.

A bit long-winded, but that's the gist of it. I have been to Paris, but it was by land and sea, not underground. As for Posh Jo, I haven't a clue, I've neither seen nor heard about him in quite some time actually.

Do you like him then?

Occasionally, yes! There are many small chapels and it's just great to stroll in and gaze in awe at the architecture.

I can see why, my other friend from there has sent me pictures of places he passes every day that are fantastic!!!! Just gorgeous! Must be amazing to just sit there and commune with God, tho of course that's good anywhere.

I asked someone else, so i'm gonna ask you, if you could have anything, anything, what would you want for Christmas, can be physical, emotional or spiritual.

Wow, so many possiblities. At the risk of sounding full of it, a cure for cancer would be useful. I don't suffer from it, but I might do one day, plus millions of other people would benefit from it.

I could think of other things like a new Mustang, a pick-up or a nice house of my own or endless amounts of tax-free cash, or better yet, a loving girlfriend. But if I had the opportunity to have ANYTHING, those other things tend to pale in comparison.

Sounds like a fantastic career to me! :)

Have you been to the states? If so, when and why?

If not, any other countries?

For Fiction, I'd say Tom Clancy. Rainbow Six was a good read, and his stories made good films too. I've recently read the autobiography's of Peter Kay and Vic Reeves (Jim Moir). They are two of my favourite comedians and reading about their lives really gives you an insight into what makes them tick.

LoL, yeah, it was a school trip and we went by coach and ferry. We didn't spend much time at the Louvre, we sort of went in the glass pyramid, down the steps, paused, and then went back out again. It was nice though, I prefer proper paintings, not like all this modern interpretation stuff. Not that I'm a grumpy old man.

And again, LoL. I guess you do like him (Jo) then.:swoon:If I see him, I'll tell him you said hi. If you feel the need to further discuss your excitement for british actors, please do, I don't mind.:p

Yes I have been to the States, just Arizona, my (English) cousin lives there with her American husband. It's a nice country, I'd like to see more of it. I've also been to France :)doh: ) and Cyprus.

Very good, I know Clancy, like his books too, tho i've not read RS yet. Don't know the comedians you mentioned, but it seems interesting that many have tragic backgrounds.

HA! I was going to ask you why you put a :doh guy after saying you have been to France. Now I deserve double   .

That's a shame you didn't get to go into the Louvre. At least you saw the pyramid. Hey, I was there for a week and didn't even see the eiffel tower!

"If you feel the need to further discuss your excitement for british actors, please do, I don't mind. "

Okay! Colin Firth. Let's discuss. ;) jk

I have never been to AZ...but my friend's parents went on cross-country train trip and said that was their absolute favorite stop. I grew up with a friend who now lives there. I just never had the desire to go. But now that I hear good things other than her opinion, maybe!

Do you watch a lot of the tele?

As it happens, these two had quite happy childhoods.:D

"What makes Thomas tick?". Good Q. I'd say Love. I'm always happy to help out a friend in need. I think some men see my compassion as a sign of weakness, but it's what I'm good at, so stuff 'em.:p As a result, I do enjoy the company of women, they seem to like me.

Not that I'm devoid of manly features, of course.

Glad for those happy childhoods! What a nice thing to make one tick. I think you're right, many see compassion as weakness, two totally different things. And I have another friend who's the same, he likes it, all those gals all to himself, lol. And um....i'm sure they like you A LOT, and i'm also sure you're just fine on the manly features!

The Eiffel Tower did look spectacular, but I didn't get to go up it. We were on a very tight schedule.

Colin Firth: Curly Hair, Never smiles.

I'd say Az is an interesting place with more to see and do than you'd think. I should be claiming commission, come to think of it.

And if I was your friend, I'd be really hurt. All this time you could been exploring new places with a childhood friend. Then some stranger on the internet says it's good, and you're halfway out the door with your bags packed.

Charming!;)

Well, some do. Only the smart ones who see my qualities, though, and most of them are on the other side of the world. Over here, those that do like me are either married or old enough to be my Grandma. I have no beef with age-gap relationships, but that's just too much, sorry. Do you see my predicament?

To be honest, Christmas lights in England are usually an indoor thing. Some people do a little bit and some people try to recreate the Griswald's house from National Lampoon, but I don't know anyone who purposefully drives around looking at lights; but that's not to say it doesn't happen.
