  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Sound exactly like what we do. :)

Worst and best experiences as a kid?

The worst; I'd say when my grandma died. She'd had a stroke and was getting better, but we were with her at hospital one day and she passed away. It was weird, because I could see she was lying there, but it felt like the body wasn't her. I couldn't bring myself to touch her.:(

The best; either playing with trains as a toddler or Christmas at my grandparents house or anytime I played in the snow. Oh, and school field trips; HMS Victory was a good one.

What is your motto?

So far, I haven't lived my life with a motto, so maybe I should think of one. Then translate it to Latin, that would be cool.

Compassion is one of my strengths, so maybe something about being true to oneself.

Hmmm, how about, 'Know thyself' or, 'To thine ownself, be true'.

Recently both of those are becomming more relevent to me.

haha those are pretty good...
i usually just pick up something from a song.
Current one is "I will lend a hand to you brother, thats if you need it. Extend a hand to another, because he can use it"

What was one of your favorite things growing up? could be anything like tv shows, foods, smells, family gatherings, etc.

That's a good lyric. Growing up, hmmmmm. Well the smell of slightly damp, freshly cut grass can evoke happy memories. I always did enjoy family gatherings, or being at middle school in the summer, or just my early education in general; story time, pretending to be Sonic the Hedgehog with my friend Amy.

I know you only asked for one thing, but during the course of the last three pages, I've found that I rather enjoy talking about myself.:p

I'm sorry about your grandma. I lost my dad, and I know what you mean, like their body is there, but they clearly are not.

What would you do on your ideal date?

Well, I haven't been on many dates and the last one I went on, was formed in less than desirable circumstances.

I was at a friends party and for some reason that never became known, this tipsy young lady flung her arms around my neck and attached herself to me like a barnacle to a ship. Now why I didn't prise her off and say goodbye, I don't know, but her friends seemed to think that I looked like the knid of guy who try and have his wicked way with a drunk girl (I'm not). So during the course of this alcohol-fueled nonsense, this girl decided we should go on a date the next day. For some reason I agreed.

So we meet up the next day and we go to see the Ali G movie. It's a nice warm saturday afternoon, and I walk her home. We talk a little and she decides that, minus the alcohol, she doesn't find me attractive in any way.

Charming!

That was roughly 4 years ago, and I haven't been on a date since.

So to answer the original question, my ideal date would be with a lady whom, a) I know a little bit about beforehand, and b) actually thinks that a relationship with me might be a good thing. A picnic or BBQ would be a good venue, or maybe a theme park/county fair.

Somewhere we can both feel comfortable and talk, basically. I open to try new things too, so that opens up a few possibilities.

White-water rafting, Anyone?

White-water rafting, Anyone?[/FONT]

 Yep! ;)

I went for my bday in October for the first time. On the Youghigheny i Ohiopyle. Let me tell ya, most terrifying experience in my life. Almost lost best friend and her husband at dimple rock. Due to really stupid mistakes and listening to someone who thought they knew everything but had no common sense... and was too proud to admit it.

BUT, aside from that it was the most thrilling thing I have ever done and I am thinking about maybe trying to take it up..slowly..starting at #1 rapids. lol.

You? What rivers have you been on? How did you get started?

Oh my gosh, sorry that happened! My other friend there seems to have the same problem occasionally.
Nice ideas for dates.:) So you like whitewater rafting? That almost totally supports my town! Pic below was taken locally.

LOL, that's alright, i've never been either. :)

Have you decorated your home for Christmas yet?

We've got to finish the tree, but we do have a very tasteful fireplace with a garland and lights running around the edge.

It's artificial, but it looks great. Have you got yours up?

I'm sorry, there seems to have been a mis-understanding. I meant that I'd like to go rafting on a date. As it stands the closest I've got to rafting is canoeing.

Sorry about that.

Thanks for taking an interest though, those of you who did.:holy:

LOL! No biggie! :) It's cool your interested though. I reccomend it!

Do you live in an area that is close to white water?

We've started, usually get a real tree, but this year I opted for artificial. We live upstairs and it's such a hassle getting the tree down when we take it out, I just thought i'd do it the easy way this year, came pre-lit. So when dear daughter gets home from school for break, we'll put the decorations on it. Have some lights up in the kitchen and few things here and there, but will do the big push when she gets home, lol. Hahaha, you sound so much like my other friend, you Brits, always sound so proper. :) I like it, it's refreshing and cute, don't be mad, I mean it in the best way. :)

And New Year's, any plans yet?
