One should be a bit cautious in regards to the Federalist Papers as a source of the thinking behind the Constitution. There is a lot of great information in it, but we must remember something important: The Federalist Papers were essentially a work of propaganda. The whole reason they were written was because there was a big debate in New York about whether to ratify the Constitution...
True, and the Anti-federalists were at it too, but the point is that there was much and plenty of debate either way over the content of the C - which shows the depth and extensiveness of the thinking on both sides at that time we have to take it cautiously, yes. And as with other contemporary works of that time. Reminds me of taking cautiously Josephus and Eusebius lightly in light of their bias' also....

(my clip of the Federalist papers was just something I thought was interesting..)

Good thing they didn't. As Blaise Pascal (a devout Catholic) wrote: “Men never do evil so completely and cheerfully as when they do it from religious conviction.”
Not good. Jesus is king. And government is the servant of Christ. It should have been acknowledged.

The United States enslaved one race of people, genocidally murdered a second race, and threw a third into concentration camps. It is better for Jesus’s reputation that they didn’t say they were serving Christ.

Thats what I meant when I said: this is what Jesus Christ's authority looks like?

For determinist/fatalists, yes, that's exactly what it means.

The government is the servant of Christ. It’s not always an obedient servant.

Wrong. Religion is divisive— as bad as politics, if not more so. 3-4 million people were killed in the 16th-17th century Catholic/Protestant wars. Where was Jesus?

Yes, it’s divisive.

“Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I came to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; and a man’s enemies will be the members of his household.

In light of recent developments, I think another amendment might have been considered to further protect our nation. Something regarding "No convicted felon can ever hold elected office anywhere in the United States of America". After all, most convicted felons are stripped of their rights to even cast a vote. Why is it moral to allow those who cannot legally vote to hold the office in which they are not allowed to vote?

Perhaps our founding fathers believed that should go without specifically saying. After all, laws were created in privilege to our elite citizens. To prevent their conviction in the first place. They may have intentionally left this protective amendment out of the constitution. These cats were not the gold standard for moral values either. They seemingly believed all men were created equal, but they themselves were just much more equal than the inferior class of serfs. Their self-righteousness remains intact in today's America, unfortunately.

Felons who have served their time and are free from any encumbrances (restitution payments, fines, etc), and (oh, let’s say) five years after that they should be free to hold elected office, otherwise we’d risk creating a permanent under-class for no really good reason beyond vengence.

Felony?? They cant even identify the crime? A check to a lying porn bimbo and a lying lawyer... and a NDA which is not illegal anywhere? Democrats, you dont see the weaponization of courts over political opponents?? This is the stuff of Russia and China. Stalins deputy premier famously said "Find me the man and I'll show you the crime" You can fabricate a crime around anyone, this incident was overlooked by all parties till now. Meanwhile the country has gone to hell under the Democrats?? This BZ is cause for good people to become terribly angry at the political abuse of this all to keep one party out of office, the Left taunts and begs for reactive hostility so they can scream hurt, and with all the ballots sent through the mail, our votes dont seem to count, we have nothing left....

The difference between the Trump and Biden crimes are easy - Trump paid someone thousands out of his own pocket, over a personal issue, where Biden put millions 'into 'his pocket from foreign and evil governments - China!!

You have a point. Maybe we compromise and winnow the amendment down to ban any former elected officials who have been convicted of more than one count of felonious fraud? :)

It's pretty sad to have to pass a law to keep people like that from being elected. We should know better without a law.

The crime his lawyers spent weeks defending him from? You say it doesn't exist? Good grief, man. Why didn't you tell them?

Look, it's not too late. They can use this valuable information for the appeal. I urge you to contact them immediately and explain the situation. Here's the lead lawyer's email address: Toddblanche@blanchelaw.com

Let us know how you get on. You can post his response when you receive it.

Why not simply 'Must be of good character'.

Too subjective and vague. Not to mention we voters are hard pressed to spot the scattered candidates of good character. They seem overshadowed by a loud and deceitful bunch of attention seekers.

— Matthew 10:34-36
As long as we're quoting, here's one from James Madison. Who largely wrote the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights:

“What influence, in fact, have ecclesiastical establishments had on society? In some instances they have been seen to erect a spiritual tyranny on the ruins of the civil authority; on many instances they have been seen upholding the thrones of political tyranny; in no instance have they been the guardians of the liberties of the people. Rulers who wish to subvert the public liberty may have found an established clergy convenient auxiliaries. A just government, instituted to secure and perpetuate it, needs them not.”
