6 For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.
True, we should look up, and meditate on Him day and night. That is possible after we get saved to a far far greater degree than before. Trying to think about heaven, however does not save us, and has nothing to do with the power to choose that God gave all men.

8 Those who are in the flesh cannot please God. - Romans 8:6-8
This would be the reason we might want to choose to get saved, so we can start to learn His ways and know Him and what is His will.

Again, nothing to do with our salvation or damnation choice.
So which one describes those with hearts of stone, those whose minds are set on the flesh or those whose minds are set on the Spirit?
Hearts of stone change after we choose Jesus. Even if the mind is 'stony' man still can choose though, after all how else could the damned people stay damned? God sure doesn't want them that way, as we saw He would love everyone to make the right choice.

Well, you imply that the unsaved are not in the Spirit, so I would like to know when the "elect" become in the Spirit.
When one is born again. There’s a good reason for that analogy.

Never heard that, what's the verse?

Also, how is that reply even relevant to what I posted and that you responded to?

It seems now that you cannot or choose not to address the 7 or 8 scriptures I posted, you want everyone chasing squirrels.

Disingenous.

I asked this
The question boils down to this. Can a heart of stone love God? If so, why is there a need to be born again? If not, how can anyone love God?

You responded with this

The Bible says we can after hearing the gospel and coming to Christ in faith.

I assumed it was in response to my question because why respond to a post of you aren’t addressing what was said?

And I addressed your 7 or 8 verses. You can go back and find the post. It’s there.

You know, you are only including one sentence of what I wrote, not the entire post that includes verses.

If you want to have a conversation at least be up-front enough to include my "ACTUAL" response and not chop it up.

It seems like now you have to create a rabbit trail because you have no case. If you want to hold a sad conversation of misdirection, please DO NOT WASTE MY TIME. I have better things to do than have a disingenous conversation with a fellow believer. Life's short. It's not Christ-like.

Flesh of course, are you suggesting that means they can't choose or reject Jesus? How would anyone GET saved then?
It says right there that those in that flesh cannot please God. Believing in Christ is pleasing to God. I hope we can agree on that point.

So let me answer your question.

I think it’s safe to say that being in the flesh, having a heart of stone, and being dead all describe the same thing...being unsaved.

Is there Anyone who can make us in the Spirit, take a heart of stone and give a heart of flesh, and make us alive?

Yes. Hopefully we all know the answer.

With the new hearts, with the new life, we will believe. We will please God.

You provided verses with no context, and never actually answered the question (as it seems now). But enjoy your free time.

Right.

Because I posted an explanation and scripture and you have nothing.

Way to avoid a theological discussion. By posting nothing and playing games.

I said that if you post any of your verses in context, I’d respond. It’s up to you.

The issue is not serving or pleasing God here, the issue is choosing to do so or not. Only after we make the right choice can we begin pleasing God.

Yes. Hopefully we all know the answer.

There is someone that wants to do that and only waits for us to choose/ask.
With the new hearts, with the new life, we will believe. We will please God.
In other words after we choose Jesus, we can then start living being made right.

Actually, the issue is what scripture says. And it says that those in the flesh cannot please God. Unregenerate folks cannot please God. Period. You can continue to ignore that, but it’s right there in Romans 8

Who cares if people please God before they get saved? Of course they could not. Your attempt at equating the power of choosing between good and evil (free will) to 'pleasing God' is noted. Choice actually is to please God or NOT. Not all the decisions of man please God.
