They are spoken of together in scripture, but, I have always seen death as a state of not being and Hell as a place of eternal torment. Scripture seems to show them as living entities.Shouldn't we look at Death and Hell the way scripture portrays them?
Revelation 6:8
AndI looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.

The word translated "death" is Gr. thanatos. Usually, it refers to spiritual rather than physical death (of course, both can be the case at the same time). The word translated "hell" is Gr. hades, which is the place or state of the spiritually dead. So, you're right, they're spoken of together in scripture, they're reflections of the same concept (2 sides of the same coin).

This is not a verse, but wordly opinion last year put Thanatos as being the supreme being of total annihilation. That is the ancient Greek spin on what death is. Satan was the origin of the original concept, and more than likely the supernatural world of current science fiction. That is what Death is not.

God says Death contains the souls not found in the Lamb's book of life. Any physically dead souls, resurrected into Death, will never live again, because their names are never found as covered by the Atonement of the Lamb on the cross.
