I pray the first one, verse 11, over our President and all who are under and around him, especially during these troubled times. (((hug)))
I will join your prayer for the president, he is trying very hard, I pray the Lord works through him...

Proverbs 25:

This is true. If only we could see the spiritual carnage this causes.

20 Like one who takes away a garment in cold weather,
And like vinegar on soda,
Is one who sings songs to a heavy heart.

This is one of the most PROFOUND verses in Proverbs.

Amen.

21 If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat;
And if he is thirsty, give him water to drink;
22 For so you will heap coals of fire on his head,
And the Lord will reward you.

Amen.

Proverbs 25:

"Confidence in an unfaithful man in time of trouble is like a broken tooth, and a foot out of joint." ~Pro 25:19

This is very wise, and very very true.

God's people are never meant to be "gullible". We are admonished to be as wise as serpents and as harmless as doves, and we are given treasure upon treasure of wisdom right here in Proverbs and throughout God's Word to guide us, if we will only "heed" His Words. He IS the Good Shepherd, after all, amen?

"be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves." ~Matt 10:16b

These verses seem to speak to me

25 These are more proverbs of Solomon, collected by the advisers of King Hezekiah of Judah.

2 It is God’s privilege to conceal things
and the king’s privilege to discover them.

3 No one can comprehend the height of heaven, the depth of the earth,
or all that goes on in the king’s mind!

Proverbs 25:

Heaping hot coals on his head.

These verses (verses 21-22) are HUGELY and POWERFULLY profound. It isn't because we "like" our enemy or are feeling all warm n' fuzzy towards them. It's because we are bludgeoning the enemy, the REAL enemy, Satan himself with a weapon he has no defense against. It completely dis-arms him.

This verse comes to mind:

"But If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him something to drink. For in so doing you will be heaping fiery coals on his head. " ~Rom 12:20

Proverbs 25:

Peace and refreshment.

Peace is priceless and a gift from God. It means nothing if one has a house, mansion, or palace, if there is contention, which has been described as a steady drip drip drip of water that never stops. And as it is written elsewhere in Proverbs, a wife who is a blessing is a gift from God, for she will do her husband good, and not evil, the rest of his days. In addition, good news and/or encouraging and uplifting words, whether from a distant country, or from one's own wife, is like cold water to a weary soul. Bless-ed are those who give those encouraging and uplifting words to those who are weary and discouraged.

Amen.

Proverbs 25:

Surrender.

This is such a stumbling block. For many of us. God help us to surrender all of these weaknesses and stumblings to You. We need You to override those things in us that mar Your testimony in our lives. Grant us the grace to surrender all those things that we have not laid at Your feet, and forgive us, in the name of Jesus, amen.

Proverbs 25:

The Good Samaritan.

This verse is quite powerful (verse 22). What comes to mind for me is the Good Samaritan. He was the only one who responded with compassion, to his sworn "enemy". Israelites HATED the Samaritans. And the Samaritans KNEW this, and therefore didn't like the Israelites much either.

So here we have a Samaritan, minding his own business, and he sees an "enemy", near dead, just laying there, beaten badly and most likely unconscious. Two others, who were akin to this nearly dead man, passed on by him, leaving him there to DIE.

Yet, when this Samaritan saw this man, he went TO him, and his heart was full of compassion.

He, in essence, saved his life, amongst other things.

This Samaritan did exactly what WE are admonished to do in verse 22.

Would we do the same thing He did, for OUR sworn enemy?

"If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he be thirsty, give him water to drink:" ~Pr 25:21
