According to the apparatus in the Jewish Publishing Society Tanakh, the Hebrew of verse 6 is unclear. The Septuagint actually reads, "He that gathers treasures with a lying tongue pursues vanity on to the snares of death," and not what is indicated in the NIV (see, e.g. Brenton).

I knew a couple who read a chapter of Proverbs every day, 31 chapters per month.
