Do you believe that if a woman get's pregnant, and then proceeds to gain 80 lbs because she sits on her couch and eats twinkies all day, it's her pregnancy that causes the stretchmarks?

Yes I do. Even if she had gotten back into shape straight afterwards she would most likely have the stretchmarks from her preganancy. My friend's mother is as skinny as a rake but she has stretchmarks everywhere on her stomach from both of her pregnancies.

Anyway....this women that you are talking about could have had post-natal depression...I don't know.

I understand that pregnancy can and most likely will cause stretch marks. What I am saying is that overeating makes it much worse... you know what, nm. This isn't worth arguing about.

1. 40 lbs is on the high side, and over the recommended amount, I'm pretty sure about that. You are also failing to note that she admitted to me herself that she overate during her pregnancy.

2. 40 lbs for my ex-gf. I said 80 lbs as an extreme example (not of my ex-gf) to show that a pregnancy doesn't have to be the sole contributing factor to stretch marks. You get stretch marks from weight gain too.

3. Please don't pray for me.

Of course she overate, pregnant women get all sorts of crazy cravings and I think most do tend to overeat. I could be wrong though, I haven't been pregnant myself and probably won't ever be so...

It could have been the weight gain, it could have been the pregnancy....we can never be sure but it is likable that the pregnancy caused the stretchmarks.

I am not arguing though, just trying to get you to see things from my point of view...but I guess that you are doing the same. ^_^

Sorry. I guess we should stop debating it because its derailing the thread.

FWIW, I agree with what you are saying. Yes, stretch marks are inevitable - but gaining a lot of weight (especially depending on the person's body type) can definitely contribute to the problem.

I would like to point out that dB did say the girl he is dating right now - which would mean that he is aware of said stretch marks but is still dating her. So, I don't think disliking them makes him shallow or immature - just human. Shoot, *I* don't like my stretch marks...I can't expect a guy to think they're sexy! :p

Stretchmarks are why it sucks to be a women, guys don't get them because their skin is tougher. :S lol
Most women get stretch marks when they are pregnant. Any guy who judges you for getting them is not worth your time and should not be breeding in the first place. Women have no reason to feel bad for having stretch marks.

Maybe he said ex - but at any rate, I don't think that's why he broke up with her...that was my point. Now, if he did... lol

I don't think my ex was an exception. I know a lot of guys get stretch marks. Anyone can get them from growth spurts or weight gain - women are not alone in this bodily blessing. lol

She is an ex... She was the mean one I posted a thread back in November about. Gosh she was evil. But the stretch marks aren't why we broke up. Like I said, she was EVIL.

Contrary to popular belief, I'm not as shallow as you might think. My ex-wife has stretch marks and I didn't really care... she got them having my baby, what kind of degenerate piece of crap would I be if I held that against her?

Also, EVERYBODY get's stretchmarks, it's not a girl thing. I have them in various places from when I've gained or lost weight. And yeah, you get them from lifting weights too. I have some on my arms because I was more muscular in the military and then I stopped working out when my contract was up.

I thought he said ex, my mistake.

I don't expect guys to find stretchmarks sexy, that would just be stupid.....I just expect people to talk of other people's appearances with more respect.
Normally I wouldn't talk that way about people.. but you don't know the back story with me and this chick so yeah. She was a mean, spiteful girl... I treated her very, very well too but she just used me as a verbal punching bag so I don't feel too awful commenting on her body when she was so mean to me and I was so good to her.

I was kidding about the stretch marks being the reason you broke up. :sorry: I remember the little bit you shared about that girl and have no doubt you had good reason to end things. I know you were addressing the thread in general about not being shallow - but I do want to say that I have never perceived you that way. Quite the contrary, actually - you seem like a good guy, overall.

Oh, okay. Thanks :)

Yeah, I have my "rough" edges, but I try to be a decent human being most of the time.

I think that's the most any of us can ask of ourselves, eh? Some of us are more refined than others - but we're all still human and have our moments. Thank goodness for God's grace and mercy. ;)

1. Do you find pregnant women attractive?

2. Do you find a mom pushing a baby stroller attractive? Or maybe jogging with it? Say... tight sweatpants, sneakers, hair pulled up with sunglasses on..

I will say yes to both!!!

1. No.

2. No.

90% of the time, mothers lose their edge as attractive woman. Not only does physical deterioration often set in (don't ask for details), but they also often lose the mental edge of having to look best to attract a man. Not such much with a baby, whose love is blind.
