Having 10 or so kids not many people have that many kids because at least in the US, both parents are usually working....
Contraception just continues to alienate people from each other.
I agree with what you said of the challenges of parenting, but that's it.
Nothing can possibly alienate a couple more than a lack of intimacy in a relationship where it is otherwise desired. If you're too busy working, because you need to support 7 kids (a number that is environementally unsustainable...if we all did this...contraception prevents extinction, at a minimum) your relationship with your spouse is almost certain to suffer. If you're not having the sex you desire because you fear a risky pregancy between that age of 40ish and menopause, it will take a toll.
In most churches both Catholic and protestant they have Emergancy Pregnacy ministries that anyone can go to... Most people view this if your pregnate outside of marrige... but thats not true. If your married and you didn't mean to get pregnate its an emergancy and these groups should be willing to help you. There are several couples who wish they could have children but can't adoption is always a possibility... If a family can't for whatever reason care for any more kids they need to reach out to their communities and ask for help...
I hope you're not meaning that a
married couple should actually consider adoption in poor monetary circumstances???

I cannot possibly view a condom as a greater evil than a child separated from his natural parents.

Adoption is pretty much a stable of the out-of-wedlock pregnancies and should have no place in a marriage.
As for adoption, there are many couples who wish to adopt, but the supply of couples waiting is far less than the pregnancies prevented by contraception, I suspect. It's simple fact that there are not nearly enough couples to adopt every child killed through abortion, and I have to assume that abortion is the last resort for many women. At any rate, the number would clearly be even greater.
Since the Pill began to be sold in 1960, divorces have tripled
That fact is sad, but it has far more to do with the fact that women now have career opportunities and job skills. Divorce is now an option (financially) for many more women than in the past.
Abortion was illegal when the pill was brought to the market, so of course there are more abortions afterwards when it's legal. The fact that it only doubled is
astounding. Clearly, some unwanted children were prevented before they even got to that point. And while we may disagree on contraception, we likely both agree that having a baby's brains sucked out by a vacuum is a horrible end result.
out-of-wedlock births jumped from 224,000 to 1.2 million
cohabitation soared 10-fold from 430,000 to 4.2 million
I agree this is sad, but I think it has far more to do with people marrying much later in life. Personally, when I was young, I was determined that I was going to do the right thing and save myself for marriage. In my early 20's, I was distressed about many things in life, and gave in to the temptation, rationalizing that there's no guarantee marriage will ever come (and it never did). It might be realistic to get someone to save themselves till age 18-20, like when people use to marry, but to ask them to wait until 25-35 or even longer is unrealistic. Therefore, more people see the challenge as unattainable and even up having sex before marriage. And the Christian community does nothing to help, as they have largely joined the mentality of "get your education, and marry later in life".
Joseph Rotzer, M.D., author of the sympto-thermal method, reports not a single divorce or abortion among 1,400 married couples who used NFP. And Couple to Couple League Founder John Kippley reports a 1.3% divorce rate among married couples who teach NFP.
That stability is something I really admire about Catholicism (the vast majority of those practicing NFP), but I think the low divorce rate is explained largely by the fact that Catholicism virtually forbids divorce in most any circumstance. While I do admire it, I am not eager to put myself into a marriage with sexual unfulfillment just to say I "toughed it out", when I do not believe that such a sacrifice is demanded of me by God.
