Boy how dense are you, not even believing what the word of God states. You may answer your questions with a no, but I do not need a sinner answering any questions for me. I will answer them with yes, for the fourth time.

So now you are calling someone a name and that's somehow perfection? And you call me a sinner which by your definition is the same as saying I'm not saved. Do you realize this is against CF rules? So now you've broken the site rules but that's not falling short of giving an answer with gentleness and respect as the Bible calls for you to do?

1 Peter 3:15New International Version (NIV)

15 But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,
16 keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.

So to be clear: You think name calling is good behavior in Christ?

Colossians 4:6New International Version (NIV)

6 Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.

So I would say you just proved my point. In this reply alone, you fell short of what the Bible teaches. That is sinning.

Lest you think I'm being haughty, this is a struggle we all face and me in particular. How do we engage in conversations without being arrogant or belittling the other. Asking me if I'm dense is belittling. It's not showing gentleness or respect and certainly is the opposite of demonstrating grace towards the other. You can believe what you want to believe, but you are seriously mistaken and in fact you believe something that isn't true. You have just demonstrated that here.

Do I think that I am better than anyone else, or that anyone is better than myself-NO, God created all men equal and we(you, me and every other person that has ever walked the earth) are all one in Christ Jesus, to some he gave a better understanding than to others(these are called gifts). And God's word is to be used for correction in righteousness.

Ok, so now you've edited out your offensive language to me. But you have nothing to say about it? The fact that you edited it tells me you know it was wrong. So if I were to ask you if you have ever did anything you'd consider wrong AFTER you'd been saved you'd say yes. But isn't doing something wrong to another a sin? That's our predicament. We want to do what's right, but we fail. We fall short. To fall short is to sin. But thanks be to God for His grace which covers a multitude of sins. In that, we can all rejoice.

Yes, you are right I was a bit too salty, and forgive me for being that way. But when I quote verse of scripture after verse, and you still deny what the word of God states about sin, how do you justify what you have quoted? How do you believe one verse and not all verses? It comes down to what we are taught and if we have been taught wrong, then we believe what is wrong(the blind leading the blind) believe me I know now what I was taught, which you still believe is wrong, God has shown me the truth, for the truth will set you free, as God has set me free. I can not keep from trying to share the truth with anyone, and will use God's word for correction, which I tried to share with you. But, you do not heed the word of God when it is in disagreement with what you believe, and I will believe the word of God to that of any man, any and every day.

Well, I take the Bible as a whole and not in sections. I study and examine the entirety of a teaching. For example, I don't believe that we need to confess our sins in order to be forgiven. We are forgiven. But if we do sin, we need to set that right. Not by asking for forgiveness. But if a person feels that need, go ahead. Talk to God however you like. He is our Father. And when it comes to sinning, it's like Bob Newhart said, "Just STOP it!" Just stop. Go and sin no more.

One day we will be like Christ. For now we work out our salvation with fear and trembling. It's a constant thing. We strive daily to follow Christ. Sometimes we mess up. We get tired, maybe snap at our loved ones. Get angry and swear (something I've had to work on in my life). But God is patient and loving and kind. He's like the master painter and my paint is still wet. That's how I look at it. And when we fail, we get up and get back to it. We don't need to wallow in guilt because we're no longer guilty. Done! The cross took it all.

There are many things I was taught as a kid that I now believe were wrong. I was told how to act like a Christian. The message wasn't intended to mean "act" as in a play but that's the message we received. Christianity isn't an act. It's a walk with God - daily depending on His grace for our lives.

There are two huge lessons God has been teaching me. One is that Love indeed never fails. That love covers a multitude of sins. And that His grace is bigger than anything we could imagine.

including me-sorry you fell that way-I apologize. So yes, I did say something about it. It is like when I answered your questions before, but you did not see that I had answered your question.

The fact that you edited it tells me you know it was wrong. So if I were to ask you if you have ever did anything you'd consider wrong AFTER you'd been saved you'd say yes.
But isn't doing something wrong to another a sin? I do not feel like I have done anything wrong(I was predestinated to do it), it maybe a misunderstanding one one's part, but to make you or anyone else feel better I will apologized and mean it.

That's our predicament. We want to do what's right, but we fail(are you speaking of the war of the flesh?- 2 Corinthians 10:3. We fall short. To fall short is to sin(Jude 1:24). But thanks be to God for His grace which covers a multitude of sins(brother it covers every sin, of every person. In that, we can all rejoice(Amen).

I need to teach you how to use the quote button. Your replies are mixed up in my message and it's hard to follow.

You can easily quote someone by using the + key above

I just highlighted the sentence above and clicked on the +. The quote command is entered. Each quote you respond to separately needs a start and a stop command. The word quote is in [ ] and if it's an end the quote command it's [/quote].

We are forgiven(Yes- for his namesake). But if we do sin, we need to set that right. Not by asking for forgiveness. But if a person feels that need, go ahead. Talk to God however you like. One day we will be like Christ(We are, you just have to see it). For now we work out our salvation with fear and trembling(Luke 1:74-75 and Titus 3:5). It's a constant thing. We strive daily to follow Christ. Sometimes we mess up. We get tired, maybe snap at our loved ones. Get angry and swear (something I've had to work on in my life-myself also). But God is patient and loving and kind. He's like the master painter and my paint is still wet. That's how I look at it. And when we fail, we get up and get back to it. In the beginning we are babes in Chrits. Immature as it were. But as we grow in the knowledge of Him, and our heart moves ever closer to Him, we conform more to His Image. It's a process. Like a potter with clay. One day just a slab of mud. But with the removal of the unnessary and the shaping of what's left, God, through Christ, molds us into something good. Daily we are becoming more and more like him. But in the beginning, we were just babes with much to learn. Yes we are like Christ. But not fully. But we are becoming like Him more and more each day.

REALLY, Dude I have stated that I do not sin and cannot sin, I have been made free from sin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And given you the verses of God's own word of the scripture stating so(1 John 3:9 and Romans 6:18 and Romans 6:22). I have repented, and it is a one time decision!

Waw!! You must be the only non-sinner in the world then?

How do you manage when you do something wrong? Do you not class it as a sin? Can you do anything bad and not call it sin?

You do realize that every time that you repent you crucify Jesus Christ afresh and put him to an open shame? Hebrews 6:6.

So far out that buddy. Jesus came to save sinners. Do you think for one moment that Jesus would think that human kind would never ever sin again after His crucifixion?

Jesus knew that 'man' would continue to sin. We have to repent, ask for forgiveness.

John 20:22-23
22 And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. 23 If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.”

Why would Jesus tell them they could forgive sins or retain them if he had already forgiven every sin, past, present and future on the cross like you claim is what happens?

Thank the Lord God that in the CC we have 'confession' where we can seek forgiveness of our sins and be absolved by the power of God working through the priest, just like the Apostles in the above passage.

For a Protestant view of these verses see this link: http://www.gotquestions.org/John-20-23.html

Only Jesus can forgive our sins. The Bible is clear on this. For example:
In Acts 10:43-44, when Peter was sharing the gospel, he said, “Everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.” First John 5:1-5 tells us only he who believes in Jesus will overcome the world. Luke 5:20 says, “When Jesus saw their faith, He said ‘Friend, your sins are forgiven.’” Colossians 2:13-14 says Jesus forgave all our sins. All these passages confirm that Jesus is the one who forgives sin, and He forgives all of our sins.

1 John 1:9 New International Version (NIV)

9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

Jesus is the only one that can forgive sins. The above verses do seem confusing to me. But given a look at the entirety of Scripture, it's clear to me that the Apostles could not really forgive the sins of others. Nor could they retain their sins.
They could however, in their efforts to share the Gospel, recognize those who received the gift of forgiveness and those who rejected the message. That I think is the message of the above verses.

As for confession, it certainly is Biblical. While we Protestants don't have Confession as our Catholic friends do, there is this from James 5:16 -Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.

Proverbs 27:17 As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.

We definitely need each other. It's an interesting topic and much more to learn and understand. God Bless.

Jesus gave the power of forgiveness to the Apostles which in turn absolution would come via Jesus. And today it is Our Priests in the CC that have this gift from God. Wonderful!

Obviously you interpret that bit of scripture differently!

Thanks and God bless you to

"So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many(all); and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.*Hebrews 9:28)" I would just like to let you know, that Jesus Christ has appeared to me the second time. That is the reason that I have to share with each, what his marvelous word says, and at times use his word for correction, for instruction in righteousness. For when you know the truth it will set you free. Have a blessed day brother.

"I can do all things in Christ which strengthens me.(Philippians 4:13)" Please, understand that God has predestinated you, me, and every other person to do what we have done, or will do. There you will find salvation for your soul. What you see as freewill, I see as predestination. You think that what you do as wrong-what you call freewill(that you have a choice), is actually what God had planned for us before the foundation of the world. To give an analogy-say there are three pencils on a table before you, there is a red, blue and green one. You have been taught all your life that the green pencil is the wrong color, but you pick the green pencil. You were predestinated to pick the green pencil(or which ever color you picked), not that it was a choice. I hope this will help. Another verse of scripture that you may also consider is Romans 2:11 which says "For there is no respect of persons with God". Have a blessed day, brother.
