Is there reason to believe that God created us as human souls and our transgression made us physical which is why we are to resist the temptations of the flesh, and why we are not " of this world"? Because being physical is of satan? Because if we were of Gods alone, we would not be born sinners.

We are not just a soul, we are a soul and we are a body. It is one thing together, a "full human person." Being physical is not of Satan, Satan isn't even physical. We were physical before, during, and after the Fall, and when we are glorified and Resurrected we will be physical still, having a body (which is us).

Adam was physical, he was made of soil.
But it does not say why. If we are eternal souls why would we be flesh, and the tree of knowledge is in heaven guarded by cherubim.

Why are we flesh, because God made us that way. Now you may ask why God did God make humans to have a flesh body.

Jesus after His resurrection, had a flesh body, so that is just the way it is.

This probably wont answer your question, but maybe give you enough info to answer it yourself.

Adam was - Body, Soul, and Spirit = Formed, made, and created

Formed man of the dust of the ground, breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and man was made a living soul, and created spirit or a spiritual connection with Adam….which was lost when he blew it.

Soul life is in the blood… the word life in Lev 17:11 is the Heb word nephesh ….translated soul.

17:11 For the life (nephesh) of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.

From the time of Adam until Pentecost, spirit was only upon believers conditionally ….After Pentecost, through Christ accomplishments, it became available to be born again of spirit have sprit incorruptible seed within, unconditionally.

Sin is in the flesh, and the life of the flesh is in the blood. We may and will sin in the flesh, but the spirit is unblemished.

No, we were physical beings from the day we were created, God made us neutral, with the ability to choose. We were created by God, for God, but not as robots.

If Adam had eaten from the Tree of Life, history would have been entirely different. That he had a body makes no difference to the result. He must have been a physical being. Spooks don't eat.

Being physical is not of Satan in itself. Lord Jesus had a body. How could anything to do with Him be of Satan?

Adam's sin was disobedience. We inherit the sinful nature. The body is not sinful in and of itself.

Yes but Jesus was not a sinner, and we are which means we have evil blood in us.

Right but Jesus was the only begotten Son and He was perfect meaning we are born of God and something else. Wouldn't that be why Jesus says " You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it." John 8:44

The poster was saying that perhaps the physical body came about because of sin. No, it did not. The body itself is not sinful. It is the nature that drives it that is the problem.

Satan did indeed tempt Adam to sin. God duly punished him. Adam and Eve were not cursed by God. The ground was cursed, Satan was cursed but not Adam.

God made Adam and Eve in the flesh with free will and with the connection through His Holy Spirit. God walked with them. When they sinned the connection was broken and the lusts of the flesh overcame them. Jesus Christ of Nazareth is our savior from that disconnect. Once again, those who belive, have His Holy Spirit dwelling in them, the restoration. Though still in the flesh ,we now have an Advocte with the Father.
Blessings.

Not sure of the connection, Jesus and His resurrection body is the example we will receive, when we are resurrected to our new body.

Kinda heading out the door so I will make this real quick, but I am happy to answer more questions on this if you need me to. Jesus is addressing, I believe they were Jews…. and Jesus doesn't cut them any slack…. he tells them exactly who they are and who their father is... Which is the devil.

No doubt you have seen the scripture regarding the unforgivable sin. Everybody has a theory on this, but there is only one sin that I know is unpardonable or unforgivable because it’s unchangeable……and that is, being born of the devil seed……as you know from Genesis 3:15 the devil has seed.

Since I was in that arena for a few years before I became a Christian, I know a little bit about this. There are people who literally make the devil their God and they are born of the devil seed……. that is unchangeable and unforgivable. Just as we… when we are born again receive the seed of God which liveth and abided forever…. and cannot be changed so also is the seed of the devil.

Traditionally, it has not been the orthodox position that we were created disembodied souls that turned away from God, which in turn caused us to "fall" into an embodied/physical state of being. However, there are rare exceptions like Origen who did hold to that belief. Still, it's not a common Christian position, at all. It's more of a Platonic/Neo-Platonic belief than a Christian one.

The physical aspect of creation is not of Satan, according the the Christian scriptures and tradition. All of creation is good by virtue of the Creator's inherent and essential goodness. That which a good God creates is also good.

The question of why humanity has turned away from God is simply a mystery. The account in Genesis does not explain why the first humans decided to choose against their own best interest, in spite of the fact they lived in a paradisaical setting where nothing was lacking. Did they believe God lied? Why would they assume that? Did their desire for goodness and wisdom malfunction? Were they just spiritually immature and reached for the "fruit" too soon, pace Irenaeus? We aren't told the details. The Augustinian idea that they were perfect doesn't hold up to scrutiny. Why would humans in a state of rectitude with God, walking together with God in the cool of the day, turn away from God? Something is amiss. We're just not told the "Why?" The scriptures are virtually silent in explaining why God has created a world where sin and evil occur in an abundance, but they dedicate a lot of ink to showing how God brings good out of a world like this. It's helpful to remember the revelation of God in Jesus Christ is given so that we can know what we need to know and not necessarily so that can know all we want to know.

What do you mean duly punished him? Like he deserved it or dually?

Yes thank you. I am just curious because to me it seems that our original destiny was to walk in the garden and be with God, and I cannot see God putting us here on earth to be tempted by Satan every day of our lives and then dying and going to hell like everyone did before Jesus came to earth- especially if we had never sinned before.
