Excellent quote, which brings the following quote to mind.If you tell a lie big enough, and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.

Thanks for the quote.
It does explain a lot about the methods that people resort to, even here in this thread, against Sistrin in this instance.
Maybe parents should be parents and pay attention to what their kids are learning and explain to them about certain things being taught? I guess that is asking too much, for parents to teach their children?
Amen to that. Folks on this thread, after being shown ad nauseam that Common Core is not promoting Islam, have shifted their outrage to the idea of teaching about Islam in general.
The incident listed in the OP isn't the only one to have been reported on:
Second Parent: My child got Nation of Islam paper, too
A second parent has now come forward acknowledging their child received a Nation of Islam handout in a third grade class at Harold McCormick Elementary School in Elizabethton, Tennessee contradicting claims by the school district that the document was not distributed in the classroom.

Considering that the "handout" in question is actually a printout from a web page, it's obvious that this parent is the worst kind of fraud -- a lazy one.
PROTIP: No school -- least of all a public school -- is going to shell out the kind of exorbitant expense to use a color copier for student handouts.
Godwin's Law
Have you even read this thread?
Yeah, no. My son's school does use color on some of their printouts. Is it possible the one mentioned is fake? Meh, it's possible, but simply the fact that it's in color means nothing.

Your defense makes me laugh.
A quote from a Nazi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Godwin's Law
Color for class assignments? I think not -- Color toner is expensive, and no school buys enough in bulk to give the teachers free reign over it.
Furthermore, it's blisteringly obvious that the "handout" in question is nothing but a page printed off a web site -- where's the assignment? If this is a student worksheet, where's the work?
We know this is the only page -- the "Page 1 of 1" at the top is the giveaway, which also reveals that this page in question was printed directly off the web; not from any kind of word processor; so nothing was added to it.
If this is a class worksheet as we are supposed to believe, where's the work?
And why is this the only parent whose child allegedly got it? Where is the class-wide outrage? And why is said outrage being directed at Common Core and the School Board, and not the teacher?
Sorry, MM -- 15 years in the profession; I know a fraud when I smell one.
That is your logic? The handout image was taken from the Nation of Islam web page therefore the parent is a fraud?
What makes you a pro, exactly? Because you work in one school in one school district does not make you an expert on every school in every school district, nor even close to an expert on public education.
My sons elementary school has a color copier available for the teachers to use. In addition you are not the only person here experienced with the public school system.
Interesting. You've been to my son's school have you? You've seen all of his homework? I didn't think so.
Doesn't matter. If I quote Tupac, am I making a comparison to rappers? No, I'm using a quote. If I quote President Obama, am I making a comparison to Presidents of the United States? No, I'm quoting President Obama. Now, if I say President Obama is just like Hitler, then there is a comparison being made, and you would be correct, simply quoting a relevant excerpt does not mean someone is making a comparison. Now, let's stop derailing the thread and move on.
When the image was printed out by the parents themselves, then yes, they are indeed frauds.
If you're referring to yourself (and I'll bet my blessings you're not)...
Again, if this "handout" was a homework assignment, where exactly is the work to be done?
One off. Whiteness.
