I Samuel 8:4-8

4 Then all the elders of Israel gathered together and came to Samuel at Ramah;
5 and they said to him, "Behold, you have grown old, and your sons do not walk in your ways. Now appoint a king for us to judge us like all the nations."
6 But the thing was displeasing in the sight of Samuel when they said, "Give us a king to judge us." And Samuel prayed to the Lord.
7 The Lord said to Samuel, "Listen to the voice of the people in regard to all that they say to you, for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me from being king over them.
8 "Like all the deeds which they have done since the day that I brought them up from Egypt even to this day---in that they have forsaken Me and served other gods---so they are doing to you also.

So many times when we try to proclaim the truth of the gospel to others we are called fanatics, zealots or untolerable and we become less effective because we take these things to heart, but have faith and listen to the words that the Lord spoke to Samuel when he felt rejected. It is not we that people reject, but our Savior, our God.

NOMADS

Won’t stop for long, just passing through
God’s Son is on the throne
His way of life we must pursue
Just like a rolling stone

We’re passing through, won’t stop for long
So much must yet be done
Our spirit sings a different song
Since knowing Christ God’s Son

No baggage have we need or take
No burden more to bear
The world from sleep we’ll soon awake
When news of Christ we share

So oft in Christ we’ve moved our home
To far off shores we’ll go
As nomads through this world we roam
Salvation’s Seed to sow

Though here or there, though far or near
God’s word we share with love
The world should know The Lord died here
That she may rise above

She needs to know The Truth today
She needs to see The Light
Her children too must Christ obey
To wear a robe of white

So we, the bride knowing God’s will
Should do the work at hand
Should pave the way to Zion Hill
As is our God’s command

Until the work on earth is done
We’ll labour not in vane
But till the last for Christ is won
As nomads we’ll remain

BEWARE OF WOLVES


Beware of those who wear disguise
The mask of pure deceit
The devil seeks to spread his lies
Amongst the Lord’s elite​

No child of God can act the fool
Treat church as though a game
No priest receives the highest stool
To play with Jesus’ name


Some try God’s holy priest to feign
They’ve learned salvation’s law
But only preach for worldly gain
A job and nothing more


Of God from books they’ve sought to learn
World knowledge they’ll consume
With this in vain they seek to turn
Man’s desert into bloom


They say they’ve come to spread the light
To dig and plough the soil
Up high they’ll stand in robes of white
Without a drop of oil


Although they’ve failed the Master’s call
They’ll think that all is well
But deeper still from grace they’ll fall
Before the gates of hell


They’ll preach God’s word the crowd to please
In hope their house to fill
But only priests who bend their knees
May find the Father’s will


Anointed has a priest to be
With oil from Jesus’ hand
For only then God’s sheep will see
And come to understand.

I Samuel 12: 19-22
19 Then all the people said to Samuel, "Pray for your servants to the Lord your God, so that we may not die, for we have added to all our sins this evil by asking for ourselves a king."
20 Samuel said to the people, "Do not fear. You have commited all this evil, yet do not turn aside from folowing the Lord, but serve the Lord with all your heart.
21 "You must not turn aside, for then you would go after futile things which cannot profit or deliver, because they are futile.
22"For the Lord will not abandon His people on account of His great name, because the Lord has been pleased to make you a people for Himself.

What wonderful words of guidance to even us today. Even though we may stumble and fall, God in His mercy allows us to come to Him for forgiveness and reconciliation with Him. We most not give up and turn to futile things, but through the strenght of Christ stay firm in our walk with the Lord.

IN CHRIST WE’LL NEVER FALL


When feeling down and all alone
When plagued with deep despair
At this you moan and that you groan
Does no one even care?

You tried with drugs, with sex and booze
The church you gave a try
You tasted Christ you heard His news
And thought it all a lie

For no one seems to love or care
You failed to understand
Hypocrisy is everywhere
With bible’s in their hand

A perfect church we’ll never find
However long we seek
While Satan clouds our foolish mind
Makes selfish eyes grow weak

We need to sing a different song
We need to search within
We need to see there’s something wrong
So Christ our soul can win

We need to seek our demons out
To face them face to face
Receive The Truth suppressing doubt
And turn from all disgrace

For this we’ll need our Father’s aid
God’s Holy Ghost with Fire
We need the blood from Christ who paid
And make Him our desire

For in God’s Son is all we seek
His strength surpasses all
Though in this life we’re seen as weak
In Christ we’ll never fall

OUR ANCHOR
Sometimes in our lives, gray clouds over take blue skies and a gentle rain begins to fall...Then suddenly! Without warning thunder rumbles across the ever darkening skies...Lightening...flashes around us, like spears racing toward the ground...So heavy is the rain, that it feels as if the very ground beneath us will wash away.
We have ben caught up in a raging storm. The blowing winds toss us to and fro' and like the disciples in a fishing boat...we forget who we are.
Fear engulfs our hearts and in the midst of fear...we begin to believe that we will be swept away into the rising tides of the violent seas. The waves rise higher and higher... Then! Just as it seems all hope is gone...Our eyes are drawn to the center of the whirling waters. And there in the midst of the raging sea stands...JESUS...He holds out His hand and the storm subsides...In His presence there is peace...
FOR HE IS OUR ANCHOR!!!
