CLIMBING HIGHER

We buy a house that cannot last
A car that’s doomed to rust
Few think about our wayward past
Or when we turn to dust

Most find with God, no time to talk
For church they’ve no desire
With Satan though, they choose to walk
And think they’ll flee hell’s fire

They fear no God, nor coming wrath
They’re arrogant and proud
Eager to walk the darkest path
And mingle with the crowd

But praise The Lord I’ve seen The Way
The Tree Of Life I’ve found
And though this tent may soon decay
I’m bound for holy ground

Though still life’s roads have many thorns
Where scorpions seek to kill
Yet taking heed when God forewarns
I’m climbing higher still

Now Satan’s way is not for me
In hell is not my share
I’ve found obedience is the key
Through love and tender care

I love my God I love His Son
Through Jesus Ghost within
I’ve faith to see life’s battles won
And so I live to win

Be unafraid if Truth is yours
If Jesus is your King
The grave has closed it’s gaping jaws
And death has lost it’s sting

COLOURED GARMENTS


No matter where on earth we go
Always there’s someone wants to know
If Jesus’ flock is truly free
What colour have His sheep to be


Some fail in church and even sink
Could it be the way they think
Their deeds are good yet still they sin
Casting their eyes on another’s skin


Each night I pray beside my bed
For those in Christ who’s skin is red
They know I’m here they know I care
We know God’s love and long to share


I love my brother who’s face is black
I also know he loves me back
The things he needs for life on earth
I pray to God for all I’m worth


I pray my God would shine His Light
Upon all those who’s skins are white
Although perhaps we live apart
The love of Christ is in our heart


My brother’s skin’s a shade of brown
He prays for me when I feel down
In turn we pray to Christ above
Our answer’s swift when sent in love


Yellow too is my Father’s son
Yet he and I in Christ are one
I show him love as brothers should
I’d love him more if I only could


Regardless colour or the land
I count my brothers as the sand
I love each one and they love me
That’s how in Christ we ALL should be…

Convict whenever wrong
Take as You will my every crutch
Till victory is my song


Come take my hand through waters deep
Guide me through storms and fire

To serve You that much higher

Guided to Jesus’ feet

With joy to every beat


Such joy such peace is here with You
