ODE TO HOLINESS


Holiness is my prime desire
Heaven’s my major goal
Safe and sound in my Saviour’s Fire
And through His blood found whole


Oh Lord my God lend ear my prayer
Complete what’s now begun
That I may reap Your promised share
Through Christ Your Lamb and Son


By grace You’ve given faith to stand
The Truth has set me free
Through love I’ll see The Promised Land
As is my Lord’s decree


I place my life at your command
In faith I cannot fail
Holding Salvation by the hand
I’ll walk in peace death’s vale


Who can explain my Father’s love?
How much on earth we try
But king and priest I’ll rise above
Beyond the realm of why


To where no frown, no tear can thrive
Shadow of darkness wander
Where death’s fowl stench will not survive
Beyond the far blue yonder


No fear for the journey’s mine
Anxiety’s less than rare
Grafted within Salvation’s Vine
What has my soul to care?


You’re mine my God and I am yours
My all is in your hand
Regardless how the lion roars
I’ll live as Heaven planned

SELF’S INSPECTION


Is your sleep blessed with peace of mind
Is your heart trouble free
Amazing things in truth we find
When selfless eyes can see


Please ask yourself if Christ is real
Find if the bible’s true
If God’s aware of how you feel
And sees the things you do


Just ask yourself who made the earth
The starry host above
Who truly gave to Adam birth
If not The King of Love


Just spare a moment, look inside
Take stock of how you live
Are secrets there you seek to hide
Or wish The Lord to give


Such thoughts have all from time to time
The young as well as old
We each have fallen foul to crime
When lives in truth unfold


The feelings in one's bowels at night
The murmurs deep within
The thoughts from which we’d take to flight
Are fruit of wayward sin


Regardless of your answer now
Regardless how much shame
Let wisdom lead one's knee to bow
In Jesus’ precious name


Through Christ alone is life restored
Beneath His healing wing
When He becomes our living Lord
Life’s victory song we sing

RUNNING & CHASING


The world we know is far from free
Her children live in fear
We’ve lost The Truth and fail to see
The reason why we’re here

We’re running here we’re chasing there
Searching both night and day
Whilst God has Heaven’s wealth to share
With those who Christ obey

But who can see the facts displayed
Or hear The Master’s voice
Why is the heart and soul dismayed
When darkness stays our choice

Like fools we choose satanic wares
Through lust we seek self-gain
When trapped within life’s evil snares
We let the devil reign

So now God’s voice is seldom heard
Where lies have filled the mind
We listen to our neighbour’s word
Who self is lost and blind

Not always is it Satan’s blame
As in the past believed
We choose ourselves a life of shame
Claiming we were deceived

No liar’s reach The Promised Land
No sin from God can hide
We need The Truth to understand
Why Jesus came and died

We must repent from walking dead
Return to life once more
Rise up from Satan’s lustful bed
And lock to him our door
