Cheap, very cheap and unsavoury attempt, at sarcasm.

Are you SDA? Your profile could say so if you are.

Does this sound to you like I am SDA?...
It's the Sabbath being
sin Christ died unto,
or the Sabbath He ROSE from the dead on and
ever LIVETH being LORD OF.

so then back to the topic of the thread

Page "one" we find this.

And this also on Page "One"

Don't miss it.

=============================--

Col 2 is opposed to making up a rule and judging others of being guilty of sin because they differ with you, even if that invented rule is related to a Bible command.

But Col 2 is not an attempt by Paul to delete the scriptures. Rather Paul condemns the idea of making stuff up that is not in scripture at all - where the only source/authority is "man".

Col 2:18 Let no one keep defrauding you of your prize by delighting in self-abasement and the worship of the angels, taking his stand on visions he has seen, inflated without cause by his fleshly mind,
19 and not holding fast to the head, from whom the entire body, being supplied and held together by the joints and ligaments, grows with a growth which is from God.

Col 2
20 Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,
21 (Touch not; taste not; handle not;
22 Which all are to perish with the using after the commandments and doctrines of men? 23 Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body: not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh. (KJV)

Col 2
20 If you have died with Christ to the elementary principles of the world, why, as if you were living in the world, do you submit yourself to decrees, such as,
21 “Do not handle, do not taste, do not touch!” 22 (which all refer to things destined to perish with use)—in accordance with the commandments and teachings of men?
23 These are matters which have, to be sure, the appearance of wisdom in self-made religion and self-abasement and severe treatment of the body, but are of no value against fleshly indulgence.(NASB)

Col 2 is about not judging others, so the OP reads. Read the following: It means eternal salvation to keep the Sabbath holy unto the Lord. God says: "Them that honor Me I will honor." {6T 356.4}

But if we turn aside from the fourth commandment, so positively given by God, to adopt the inventions of Satan, voiced and acted by men under his control, we cannot be saved. We cannot with safety receive his traditions and subtleties as truth. {RH, July 6, 1897 par. 4}

Would this be portrayed as Judging???

If Paul was referring to not judging whether we do or do not observe the laws given only to Israel then why would the prophet write what she did about condemning me and all who do not flock into some Saturday observing church? Oh yes, not all Sabbath keeping churches are the remnant, only one. Must we have to find ourselves in attendance there in order to be saved?

I wonder why those thing are now called "shadows" and Jesus is "reality" rather than if we are observant or not observant? 19 "These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ."

back to a dead end

Those opposed to those Bible texts - will always view them as a "dead end"

Paul condemns the idea of making stuff up that is not in scripture at all - where the only source/authority is "man".

@BobRyan
Please answer these. Do you believe the SDA view as written in BobS quote?

I believe almost nothing Bob S posts -- that is pretty much a general rule.

Not saying he "could not" post an accurate statement - just saying I have not found very many.

Why not for once in your life answer the question.

He was quoting SDA literature and books.

...insinuating Colossians 2:12-19 actually is the same as verses 20-23. Well, why don't you, take the equation seriously?

Paul regarded the CONTRAST seriously!

19 "These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ."

One word altered, from the Present to the Past Tense, and behold, this is what you get-- exactly what YOU, want; not the reality.

17 These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ. You were critical of the wrong thing my friend. The only thing I got wrong was the verse. NIV Nice try. What is your purpose?
