This is based on the false presumption that God loves everyone which he doesn't.
Malachi 1:2-3 states "2Yet I have loved Jacob; 3 but I have hated Esau,"
To suggest that God doesn't hate is false, to suggest God loves Satan is also false.

For God to hate that which God has created produces a schizophrenic picture of God. God's creation is borne out of God's eternal loving-ness; so if God creates that which God hates, we can only conclude that God hates Godself. It also makes God a liar, in that God calls "good" that which God has created out of hatred.

No one is saying we should feel sorry for the devil, nor that we should even pray for the devil's redemption (which I believe is certainly possible, if not inevitable). What we are saying is that we should not allow our feelings for Satan (which should invariably be one of a certain level of enmity) to dictate how we understand the relationship between God and Satan to be. Frankly, that is between God and Satan, and is therefore none of our business. All that we can definitively say is that God loves the Satan by virtue of Satan's membership as a part of creation.

people would rather blame the devil for their faults than themselves... but the devil is an element in fallen humanity first and foremost and that is why the parables of hell MUST speak of the evils that are destroyed in the lake of fire. but Christians would rather become literalist and think the worst kinds of thoughts about God, rather than have wisdom and to understand inner growth and development of the soul and spirit.

Satan is the great deceiver, that is in no way thinking the worst of God.
I believe the Bible and trust Gods written word over some human wisdom and vague development of soul and spirit.
That's a sure fire road to nowhere...and worse.

There were very mixed responses. As to the Devil, we don't know his purpose in God's creation nor if God has some plan for the salvation of even diabolical beings. From our human perspective, he would be damned, but we are taught not to judge. I feel we can discuss this regarding human figures as we have some idea to the criteria for being saved, but as to supernatural beings I am not sure at all, so I leave it to God.

Judas is spoken of as doomed in the book of John...

It doesn't say all of his followers as well in Revelation.
As to John, the quote is the son of perdition. What translation uses doomed to destruction? If you read the thread you will see a it was discussed as well.

No, your quotes are sufficient. I mean no one seriously thinks demons are saved, which was my point, but I am not going to say that God might not have some mechanism for them, which they ultimately don't take advantage of.

As to son of perdition, it can be translated as the lost child as Luther famously did, at least in John. So while it probably says Judas is condemned, I am not 100% sure.

Revelation also suggests that a physical rainbow encircles the physical throne of God. One must take genre into account when interpreting Scripture...

Discount what the Bible says then, it is your choice. I'm just here to point out the glaring difference between your belief and what the Bible says.

I have spent a long time trying to become a better person and a better christian.
Who can say if I have or have not changed. I am not a judge.

After some time in my life, I do feel that I have changed for the better.. But I am confused. The Bible teaches love and forgiveness, After some time, One can begin to really feel these things in their heart.

I ask you all, Is it wrong, To feel sorry for the Devil? I realize what the devil is, and what he has done to God and man,, but My heart was taught to love and to forgive, And I do feel sorry for a soul that is so damned without any chance for salvation..

If you realized that God, knowing everything, knows that Satan will NEVER repent, NEVER change, NEVER regret trying to become like God, would you still feel sorry for him? No one made his choices for him. What's more, Satan doesn't care whether you feel sorry for him or not. He doesn't feel sorry for himself. He doesn't want or care about salvation in any form. What he wants is to have the power of God without the mercy and grace bits. And he always will, even as he is burning in the Lake of Fire, he will rage about how he should become like God with his last dying breath (if angels breathe, that is).
