Christian Forums Under New Management

I want two things:

1. For the staff to admit that there is a HUGE problem, and that their behavior has been part of it.

2. To see some verifiable evidence that we aren't going to simply have more of the same old same old.


So far this has not happened. To date, I have conversed with ONE STAFF MEMBER - COUNT THAT, ONE - THAT HAS BEEN DECENT AND CORDIAL. The rest have either been totally unresponsive, or have been belligerent and argumentative.

It's a forum that can be run however LeeD Wants to run it.
It's his ball & he gets to decide the rules for playing with it, and who gets to play with it.

I know Christians with websites that don't have it broadcast on their sites/blogs.
It isn't what their main site is about or the main focus of.

I'm not going to judge him on something like that right up front. I'm as conservative as they come and come from a hardcore Baptist upbringing -- but I don't judge people like this due to a site.

Feel free to hang onto your suspicions and keep a watchful eye - I'm not saying you're necessarily wrong in your assessment. We just do not know & shouldn't claim we do know. I would hope people wouldn't judge me so quickly.
It doesn't make him a nonChristian or a lukewarm one by the website. I'll wait to see what happens here with some hope & prayer. Time will tell if this site is salvagable; I don't know yet.

I guess I'll simply leave again, and come back in a month or two to see if anything has changed for the better. Unlike most of the (over) two-thirds of the people who left recently, I'm at least willing to stand up and fight for the site, then give it a chance.

I hear you brother - I'm in the same camp you are & experience the same anger & frustration. & since I've stayed here the whole time... maybe I have even more anger than the people that took a little vacation from it.

I HOPE what you sense isn't true of Lee & he's the spiritual person we think he might be... I'll wait & see.

yes he bought both domains. He hasn't announced whether we are changing it back to christianforums.com or not...he only said what is in post 1 of this thread

For my part, I would like to be hopeful about some of the changes but I'm not so sure. Direction is good and the wiki thing was pretty much nuts but I know the messy parts about the pre-777 CF too.

This is exactly why we need scructure and rules that are plain and hopefully Christian. This is the direction this forum has went in with people trying to muddy the waters and personally I am tired of it and ready for a rules violation infraction system and rules that limit this kind of behavior.

Well Chesterton did say that the concept of original sin was about the only Christian belief that was pretty much self-evident so in some sense I agree with structure and rules.

The infraction system is okay too as long as the rules are fair.

My concerns are more of the going back to private forums which, though they may be a necessary evil can easily be abused and I know firsthand, and the move back towards excluding people (not yet but it will likely come) and some of the other things.

Just putting Christians in charge of things don't mean it won't be corrupted and used for ill...
