Isn't Halloween also called All Saints Day?

All Saints Day Reforms!!!

Actually, October 31 is All Hallow's Eve or the Eve of All Saints, but for Lutherans it is REFORMATION DAY!!!!!!!

Dr. Luther posted the 95 Theses on the door of the church this day in 1517 as All Saints Day, Nov. 1, was a required day for attending mass, thus assuring his notice would be seen.

I think having anonymous reporters caused most of the problems.

There probably are, and that's ok. But traditional/conservative Christianity doesn't equal atheist-bashing. It doesn't preclude kindness. We need to be better witnesses than this. All of us.

Can someone point me in the right direction- URL, address, etc.

go to LeeD profile and hit "find all posts" ...in one of his posts he actually gave us the website of his church..plus had lots of other things to say..

The enemy has no power over us. We abide in Christ, and He in us. I strongly object to the mischaracterization of "atheists" and the appalling sweeping generalizations. None of us are any better. We're here by grace, not because of something we've done.

But, primarily, atheists are still His belovéd. He died for them just as He died for us. We have no right to bash them.

That was the straw that broke this camel's back. Knowing that Erwin went out and invited a bunch of atheists to come here and wreak havoc - and to watch them do so with immunity - was unbelievable.

Perhaps that travesty will be righted.

If it is unbelievable, I would suggest not believing it.

interesting, and it's the same Christians that "welcome" the mockers, WHO BASH THE CHRISTIANS ASKING THEM TO LEAVE OR STOP THE ATTACKS.

The problem is, Christians get attacked for dividing with wolves and false teachers from outside and within.
When that happens, it becomes "christians & skeptics" VS. traditional Christians who are holding out for TRUTH of God.

I should know, I"ve seen it done for 10 years now in internet ministries.

Lee, I'm looking forward to the changes that will be made.

As a mod trainee, as always I'm curious as to how you will go about making staff changes. I realize that you posted that applications already in place are going to stick, which is nice, but now how long are we on staff then? Will you just arbitrarily decide who comes off of staff and when? Or will there be some protocol set up for this?

Again, looking forward to seeing all this come to fruition. May God give you strength and wisdom, because you sure are gonna need it!!

I also have a verse for you that Jesus gave us on what to do with mockers & those who BASH us & our faith in Christ:

Matthew 7:6
“Do not give what is holy to the dogs;
nor cast your pearls before swine,
lest they trample them under their feet,
and turn and tear you in pieces.​

Biblically, we're to STOP all witnessing when they turn to mockery and insult and refuse listening (it shows a hard heart that needs work from God before they'll listen) - instead, people want to continue and coddle them in their attacks.
This is why it isn't working.

Jesus told the apostles, if a city rejects your word, LEAVE IT AND TAKE YOUR PEACE WITH YOU. Shake the dust from that city.

I'm all for having debates about religion. I think I've proven on other Christian forums that I'm more than willing and able to defend my faith.

However, General Apologetics has gone from defending the faith and answering sincerely asked questions and objections, to atheists and mockers making all sorts of false and insulting claims about our religion and us having to run around cleaning up the mess.

It's gotten so bad that if somebody asks a question, I usually won't even respond to them publically anymore, but will PM them and explain what the Bible says about that subject, precisely because I don't want to give atheists and mockers any more ammo to blaspheme Christ or insult Christianity.



The only people I want to get rid of are those who just come here to make trouble and insult us.

War Eagle (and others who have commented on my previous post), it should be possible to put a stop to 'troublemakers' and still allow honest debate - but pre-7/7/7, honest debate could not happen. I've had three posts reported in all the time I've been here, and the first two were pre-7/7/7, and they were related to asking hard questions. Just asking those questions was deemed blasphemy by the staff involved, and by whoever reported the posts. Besides cutting that discussion off, it made me very reluctant to post any questions or opinions, given the nature of an agnostic's debate is very likely to contain material many Christians find uncomfortable or unpleasant. If I cannot debate those issues which interest me, there is little reason for me to be here, and little reason to bother having a section called apologetics or debate.

I won't discuss Nadiine's example of a believer asking for backup, because there are circumstances there of serious personality conflicts between specific people and darn near everyone else on the boards, Christians included. That thread is not a good example, IMO. Look at the header, for the luvvamike.

Traditional Christians aren't all Christians, and aren't in any way better than non-traditional Christians.

Who is "bashing" who..Look what going on in some of the forums...Why should another bliever in Christ be belittled and mocked in a place that was made for Christ's glory?
