Have a great day with your grandkids. I will get to see one of mine on Christmas. I too finished my shopping, but need to get some of it shipped today, sure hope it gets there on time. I have never been this late before.

Happy Monday Morning!
I see that I had some catching up to do.
I wanted to stop in last week, but I was so far behind in the things that I needed to get done.
Plans have changed for this weekend. We weren't suppose to get together with our son, daughter in law and grandson until after Christmas, but now they are coming on Friday night instead. So I had to add an extra nights dinner to my schedule. So we now are having company Friday, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Three big meals to cook, more cookies and a cake to bake. Which means ahhhhh more Shopping to get done. That's ok I get to see the kids which is so much more important. I can always sleep next week!!!

It sure sounds like you all are busy with your plans too. I can hear the sounds of rustling paper, smell the cookies baking and the sounds of music are everywhere. What a wonderful time of year. Now if the weather stays nice with no major storms we will be fine.
Just adding a little happy to the thread!!

I'll stop back later to say hi!
Have a great day.
Take care and God Bless

Good morning, and welcome to Tuesday.

Lynn, "I can sleep next week" has been my mantra -- for the last two weeks and will be all this week, too! :D

How's everyone doing this last few days before Christmas? The last gift has been shipped; it should be here by the end of the week. Friday is my first day of Christmas break (I don't go back to work until Jan. 3; University holidays -- there *ARE* some perks to working at the University, even if pay isn't one of them :D ), so DD & I will be baking Christmas cookies on Friday. We'll go visit DH's parents on Christmas (after church). In the meantime, I'm hurriedly stitching up a Christmas stocking for DGD; I've stitched up stockings for everyone else so DD asked me to stitch one up for DGD. I'd like to get it done by Christmas, but it will take a lot of time and effort to meet that "deadline".

Blessings!
Kathy

Kathy it will be nice for to have the time off. Then you will be able sleep in (maybe)!!! Never seems to work that way for moms.
I was an accounts payable manager and this time of year was so hard to get extra time off. We would share the day after Thanksgiving or the day before or after Christmas. I worked in retail so the saying was if the stores are open so are we. I don't miss that part of the job.

I usually make everyone an ornament for Christmas, but this year I didn't get a chance. I might try starting them tonight.
Have a great day. Talk to you later
God Bless
Lynn

We, New Yorkers, are in the midst of a transit strike. It was challenging getting to work today. Cold day, no subways/busses running. We car pooled, it took us 1.5 hours, but we are in. Going home would be another challenge. I am not even thinking about the final Christmas preparations. I got through the church party at my house. Some gifts were given out already and everything that needed to be mailed, was mailed. This would be the most unusual Christmas. Considering that this Christmas is only the 30th Christmas that I am celebrating. In the Soviet Union, where we are from, there was no Christmas celebration. The tree was allowed but was called a New Year tree.
Here, as long as we can celebrate Christmas, rest of inconveniences are OK.
Be well, everyone,
Diana

I will be thinking of you tonight while I am watching channel 4 news at 5. I pray that you will make it home safely. It has a ripple effect here in NJ too.
Christmas must be such a special time for you now that you can celebrate they way you want to.
Have a good evening.
God Bless

Thank you, Lynn for your prayers.
They are getting answered in a most powerful way. So far for the past 3 days I had a most comfortable ride to work and back by means of carpooling. Especially today while driving on LIE at 6AM, there were no cars in sight. Literally! Somehow all the traffic was redirected to another road. We were wondering if we are going in the right direction. God provides.
Thank you, again.
Merry Christmas!!!

I'm home from church today; I just do NOT feel well at all and am running a fever (since I'm assigned to the 3-y.o. nursery this a.m., I thought I should stay home, lest I pass along whatever I've got to those toddlers).

We had our Christmas with DD & her family yesterday. It was a wonderful day (even though the turkey took almost 2 hours longer to roast than it should have  ). It was 8:00 p.m. by the time we had our dinner, and we were discussing our plans for the late Christmas Eve service at church. Since it was so late by the time we ate and the grandkids both were sick and cranky, we thought we'd pass on the 11:00 service. DGS (3 1/2 y.o.) said in a plaintive voice: "but Mom, I just wanted to praise the Lord".  :amen:  Well, how in the world could you say no that that? So DSIL stayed home with the baby, and DD, DH, DGS and I went to the service.

Today will probably be a quiet day at home; that had been our plan anyway but especially so now that I'm just not feeling very well.

I think I'm going to go lie down now, get some rest.

Merry Christmas, everyone!
Blessings!
Kathy

And it is so good for you. We live two blocks from the golf course but don't golf. I am happy for our friends who still do. My brother golfed until he was into his seventies.

 I tried golfing years ago and dug so many holes they discouraged me from swinging a golf club again.:D

Where did all the chit chatters go?
How is everyone?
Life sure is challening but lets remember that our God is faithful even in the midst of storms~~trials and tribulations.
Me~~I just feel tired all the time like all my energy got up and walked out the door and it seems like forever since we have had any sunshine~~
Went and saw the Narnia movie but for some reason was dissappointed in it.
Hubby worked all of Christmas weekend and will work all of new yrs weekend~~so holidays are low key here.
Praying for all the needs of my Eagle family~~I do read all the threads here. Just takes too much energy to post in all of them.
Praying for a healthy and blessed 2006 for all of us~~
