Here and staying in the Nest Migs...
Boy do we have the snow this morning..not sure how many inches...
On the other hand its very beautiful..a fresh snow always reminds me.. in Christ our righteousness is as white as snow..and when the sun shines on the snow...wow!! it is very bright and blinding. And that is how we look to God being covered by the blood of His son our Savior Jesus Christ...wahoo!!
Prayers going up for you Scootermom and boy do I hear you on the teenager thing..

Hey other Nesters who hasn't been here for awhile...we are praying for you and your safe return to the Nest...

Ed, you are welcome as far as I'm concerned. The mods don't like it though. lol. We had a couple of folks in their 40's in here before and we called them "chicklets." If they were teens or in their 20's, we called them "hatchlings." They are all gone now. I don't know why. I think they are in other CF forums. You are a chicklet.

When you said "chicklet" I thought of a brand of chewing gum (I guess I am still a "hatchling" at heart).

If I am 46 and called a "chicklet" and at 50 I become a "golden eagle" - it is some overnight tranformation at my 50th birthday.

So I guess the "golden eagle in training" will not do.

Oh well, on the bright side of it I guess such a jump eliminates growing pains.

This is a great idea about keeping momentos of each tree.
Maybe I should go back to having Christmas trees. I am serious.

But is if it stays beyond March - I am shipping it to your fire pit.

Roads are not good here either. I'm just gonna put this here. Don has cellulitis is his leg. The doctor came in this morning, ordered bunches of tests and blood work. The test are heart and to check for blockage in leg.
Prayers would be appreciated.

Also, my boys and I are grating on each other. I'd so like to go to sleep and wake up when they're men. Teenager aren't my thing, I guess.

Scooter I will be praying for him.
I can so relate to the teenager thing. We have two and one who is 11 1/2, plus we had 5 others who all went thru those teen years. You would have thought I would have learned the hard way!! I promise you will make it thru. It doesn't seem it some days. I will be praying for you and those boys too.

Miggles you are welcome to the snow the is expected here this evening. We had some yesterday and now tonight we are due to get another storm. Not sure how much yet, depends on which direction it takes.

We had our snow last week but, this morning the sun is shining and it is beautiful outside. I am fixing to venture out for the day, hope the traffic is not too bad. Have a wonderful, blessed day all.

It's been around 70 degrees for the last couple of days and rainy. I love that kind of weather. Tonight it's supposed to dip into the 30's.

Hello, new friends! We live in California's "high desert" -- extreme heat in the summer and cold in the winter. Last winter it didn't snow, but many days between 30 and 60 F with a hard wind. Wind?!? If you cried, an icicle formed; horizontal to the ground like that, it looked like you'd been stabbed in the eye with a white pick.

Thanks for the warm welcome, Theresa & Spudgrandma. Oooh, a fireplace. When we downsized 7+ years ago, we "lost" our fireplace. I've surely missed having a fireplace.

Kathy, Welcome to the thread. People here are nice and caring. Conversations are casual, which is a reprieve from heavier topics that are carried on on other threads. Some members younger brothers wondered into this thread as well.
At home we do have a fireplace, a working one. But we used it only once when we just moved in. I have my piano placed close to it, so I am afraid that wood would dry.

Good morning, all. It's cold here -- temps of 9 with wind chills > 0. I'm off work for the next 5 days; today DD and I are going Christmas shopping. Me, I'd rather just order online, but my DD loves to go shopping ... so this is something we do each December. At least I'll get some time with DGS & DGD when we get back from shopping.
