Good evening everyone.
I hope you had a very blessed day today.
The weather is changing here. It was 70 this afternoon and tonight it will be going down to the low 40's. I guess the indian summer that we have been enjoying is on it's way out.
I'm looking forward to starting to bake for Thanksgiving. Except all the work to prepare the dinner and it only takes 15 minutes for everyone to eat.
Talk to you soon.
Take care and God Bless

Hello, just taking a quick break from my work.
Yes, I have to start my Thanksgiving menu. But first I have to make a menu for my brother's Gideon's breakfast. He is hosting it on Saturday. Since he is single, I have a happy responsibility to make it. Any ideas anyone?

Sorry I haven't been around for a couple of days.
My daughter has been sick with tonsilitis since Thursday night. She is just starting to feel better this morning.
I hope that you are all well.
Is everyone ready for Thanksgiving? I am looking forward to spending time with the family.
Talk to you soon.
Have a great day.
God Bless

yep~~everyone beginning to be in the throws of Thanksgiving then onto Christmas....busy time of yr..
I do have half of my christmas shopping done...;o))
You and my sister-in-law Laura belong to another, better types of people called "those who shop for Christmas early". I will start my Christmas shopping on Friday morning. Oh well.
Everyone, have a great and thankful Thanksgiving.

I just wanted to wish everyone at CF, but especially on the Golden Eagle Thread, a very Happy Thanksgiving. I hope each one of you will be thinking about the blessings the Lord has poured on you this past year. He is the One and Only!

Oops! I forgot to mention one thing I am thankful for....I am very thankful for the friends I have made over CF. Even though I don't post alot, I have been encouraged by so many of your posts. Thank you all so much. I think it is so wonderful how Believers have a common bond that runs deep. May God bless each one of you!

I hope that you all had a wonderful day yesterday.
Didn't eat too much did you?? :D
I haven't really started shopping yet. I have 2 or 3 little things put aside. I'm thinking about starting tomorrow after hubby gets out of work.
My son and about 8 of his friends are going into NYC today to shop. So much braver than I am. But after all he is younger!
I guess I would rather be home decorating and baking then out shopping and miggling with the crowds.
Have a great day . Talk with you soon.
God Bless

Why is it that Day after Thanksgiving is called a Black Friday and not Leftovers Day. After all much more people(as I judge from my family) eat leftovers than shop. No, NJ, I did not eat too much. When I cook and serve I can not eat. And we were talking and I forgot to eat. Today, I did not do too badly shopping. I surprised myself and even got few early morning sale items, used my coupons and did not buy anything that I have to return later(!).
I was pleasantly surprised that our local Christian book store had very good quality (paper, print, colors) Christmas cards, so I got some of those as well.
Have a pleasant evening,
Diana

Did everyone survive Thanksgiving?
How are you coming on your Christmas preps?
Are you listening to Christmas music yet? whats your favorite?

I haven't made much more headway on shopping..
but my decorations are up..a very lil tree w/ nativity under it.
my cards addressed..
I listen to lots of Christmas music~~my all time favorite is the most traditional 'Oh Holy Night'....but I love tons of others also.

Whos the hardest to shop for on your gift list? for me its my grandkids..long story. I will just give them money this yr...
I will have two work related parties to go to...socializing isn't a strong skill of mine...but will try....I can leave at anytime...;o)

All I want for Christmas is snow...and to see the new movie coming out 'The chronicles of Narnia'..

 for all

My Thanksgiving was very good. I was very-very tired, but blessed by the company we had. Everyone at the table were believers. It is such a feeling to be in the company of saints.
This year instead of 1 large turkey, I made 2 small ones. One was eaten and the other one I froze. I had so much leftovers after I gave away to everyone what they wanted, that I froze some. I even froze a good size tray of stuffed cabbage. This means that some of Christmas cooking is taken care of.
The most difficult one to buy gifts is my 14-year old niece. Christmas music I will start listening to starting tomorrow, 12/1. TJ, about work related parties, I am also not good at making a small talk.
Be well, everyone!

Hi Theresasjourney.
We had a wonderful time for Thanksgiving, we went to our son and daughter-in-law's and spent a couple of days. Got to play with the grandkids, a girl 2 and a boy 6 months. We then went to our daughter and son-in-law's and another grandson,19 months, and we had a wonderful time.
As for my Christmas preps, have not started except for a few gifts I have picked up along the way. I have a couple of Christmas stockings to make for the new babies since last Christmas, so I need to get after it.
I haven't started the Christmas music yet, but I like all kinds. I really like Mannheim Steamroller.

I am thinking very seriously about doing most of my shopping on the Internet or catalog.
As for decorations, I'm not sure what we will do as I do not know what we are doing for Christmas yet.
I would like to see The chronicles of Narnia also, but I will probably end up waiting until after Christmas and go to an afternoon show when it is quiet.'..

I must be getting old. The thought of decorating when we still haven't completely unpacked from the move does not thrill me. I have nothing up and have no plans to do it yet. I do have my Christmas cards ready and any gifts that have to be mailed. I buy things throughout the year so Christmas shopping does not get me down.
I'm beginning to think that buying people a special birthday gift every year and going easy on Christmas giving is the thing to do. That way I can concentrate on just one person at a time.

Yes we are blessed, we had 5 in 20 months time, they are so much fun, I just wish they lived closer.

Good plan on the movie. I don't go to the theater very often, but I went not too long ago and went to an afternoon show, there was no one there and it was very quiet.
