  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Jim, re your problem

are you PC clued-up ?

If you have no-prob finding your way around
the following will WHEN FOLLOWED EXACTLY
lift the road-speed-limiter from your PC

GOTO start
then my computer
then localdisk c:
open it and click on show contents of this folder
then documents and settings
then click on your folder (It is named as yours)

on the top bar click on tools
then folder-options
then again on the top bar click view
then select Show hidden files and folders and click APPLY
click on OK

YOU CAN NOW see a folder called LOCAL SETTINGS
the contents of this folder are updated daily
AND everytime you make 'changes'

Open this folder to see contents
and you will find a TEMP folder OPEN IT
On the top bar
click on edit and then select-all
click on FILE (on top bar)
click on Delete

NEXT
on the top bar click the up-arrow carefully 'TWICE'
click on tools
then folder-options
then select view
then click on Hide hidden files and folders click APPLY
click OK

on the top bar click the up arrow
in the left pane under system tools
click Do not show hidden files and folders
next click the up-arrow twice

You may after some-T I M E
continue much faster
that is, after your PC dumps
this incredibly LARGE waste basket

No worries !! it will accumulate more!
BUT it will have to start from scratch
using your present setup

The prob is... that unless you clean out
these ARCHIVES
of simply: TEMPORARY helper-files
your pc will scan thru all of them
before getting on with PRESENT TASKS

the SAME ACTION is taken
with the Prefetch Folder
found in C: Windows folder

ALWAYS leave the folder intact
JUST delete the CONTENT

Doing a Disk Cleanup found, in
Start / all programs / accessories / system tools /

followed by a Disk Defragmentation also, found in
Start / all programs / accessories / system tools /

you should then
have yourself a Rolls of a PC

LOL its just what I have learned

Aw, Jim, I don't mind the visitors, especially the young ones who want to ask us Goldies for advice.

I ask you for advice, don't I? And you've given me such good advice. Thank you so much!

I am grateful to you, Jim, and I don't mind if the young 'uns want to ask us for some counsel...

As Spring says, you've got charisma, Jim!

Bet you didn't know that (?)
(what-happened?)
After denouncing the behaviour of some members, including the one I believed was SITE OWNER
for disgraceful and obscene comments
to other members
The site barred me for a period as punishment

Upon my return,
I produced evidence to support my contention :
that I had in such a way been SILENCED...
(by maybe MORE-THAN the site itself

I was then BARRED PERMANENTLY

The complaints then, from ALL other-members
forced the site to relent and they submitted
to the calls for my return
BUT I DECLINED TO RETURN

FAME also has it's down-side...
EVIL, WROTE ON OTHER PAGES

That's right, there you go, I absolutely cannot be her! :)

Psst, Jim, I left a poem for you on your toe thread. It's even in the Burma Shave style you suggested!

Hey everyone, please join me there to offer Jim our sympathetic: "Awwwwww!"

awww ;)

Hi All !!
I was looking back on mailbox
at some of the postman's past loads
and I found this little tickler

Subject: Fwd: Fw: Just a tap

JUST A TAP

A passenger in a taxi leaned over to ask the driver a question
and tapped him on the shoulder.
The driver screamed, lost control of the cab,
nearly hit a bus, drove up over the curb,
and stopped just inches from a large plate glass window.

For a few moments everything was silent in the cab,
and then the still shaking driver said,
"I'm sorry but you scared the daylights out of me."

The frightened passenger apologized to the driver and said he didn't realize
a mere tap on the shoulder could frighten him so much.

The driver replied, "No, no, I'm sorry, it's entirely my fault.
Today is my first day driving a cab.
I've been driving a hearse for the last 25 years."

That was cute. Thank you. I shall pass that one on to my mortician friend. I am sure he will get a chuckle too.

By the way, doesn't this show how easy it is to pass along a smile?

Cheers,

Jim
Jim, that is so true! Thanks for the reminder!
