Jim, re your problem
are you PC clued-up ?
If you have no-prob finding your way around
the following will WHEN FOLLOWED EXACTLY
lift the road-speed-limiter from your PC
GOTO start
then my computer
then localdisk c:
open it and click on show contents of this folder
then documents and settings
then click on your folder (It is named as yours)
on the top bar click on tools
then folder-options
then again on the top bar click view
then select Show hidden files and folders and click APPLY
click on OK
YOU CAN NOW see a folder called LOCAL SETTINGS
the contents of this folder are updated daily
AND everytime you make 'changes'
Open this folder to see contents
and you will find a TEMP folder OPEN IT
On the top bar
click on edit and then select-all
click on FILE (on top bar)
click on Delete
NEXT
on the top bar click the up-arrow carefully 'TWICE'
click on tools
then folder-options
then select view
then click on Hide hidden files and folders click APPLY
click OK
on the top bar click the up arrow
in the left pane under system tools
click Do not show hidden files and folders
next click the up-arrow twice
You may after some-T I M E
continue much faster
that is, after your PC dumps
this incredibly LARGE waste basket
No worries !! it will accumulate more!
BUT it will have to start from scratch
using your present setup
The prob is... that unless you clean out
these ARCHIVES
of simply: TEMPORARY helper-files
your pc will scan thru all of them
before getting on with PRESENT TASKS
the SAME ACTION is taken
with the Prefetch Folder
found in C: Windows folder
ALWAYS leave the folder intact
JUST delete the CONTENT
Doing a Disk Cleanup found, in
Start / all programs / accessories / system tools /
followed by a Disk Defragmentation also, found in
Start / all programs / accessories / system tools /
you should then
have yourself a Rolls of a PC
LOL its just what I have learned
