I have no control over that at all.

Ok...well I thought it was in the cookies from what I googled on the issue. The odd thing is that two forums that I visit regularly both went down recently....this one and http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums that one. Both prompted before the outage and neither do now. My browser settings haven't changed. Anyhow...like I said before it isn't a big to do...I'm wondering now if it's just me.

Try it now, I may have "fixed" it.

so the subscribed threads disappearing after you read them is the original coding? having them stay on the list, unhighlighted is a mod?

I liked the way it worked... disappearing from the list once read, that was neat!
No, just different ways of marking them as read - one is database-based, the other cookie-based (time).

So the method that made them disappear off my 'new subscribed posts' list after reading them was the cookie-based? I liked it better than this method. As I read each thread, the list gets shorter. Saves a lot of 'AllRead' clicks, too.

Can't be a user-choice, can it? i.e. whatever way, works for everyone, the same?

If the other way is reliable, I vote for it. I thought it was a new feature and loved it!
