If people want to vote for me because they feel I am worthy of whatever the category is, go for it. If you dont want to because I am tallying the votes, that is fine with me. :)

I am a trust-worthy, honest and loyal person, and I take the awards very seriously. While that may sound silly to some, so be it. I do.

If anyone doesnt feel comfortable with me tallying the votes, feel free to say you dont want to be a part of the awards.

Now, Im finally going to go look for the categories from past awards and post them so we can make a new list for this go around. :)

Amber, did you include the ones from before in your list?

Paulie, Im sorry you feel that way. I get bogged down with the negativity but then I always remember those who love the awards. Im not sure if you've been around on the award ceremony nights but they are always epic! And it makes my heart melt to see so many happy people in one setting. Its truly a great sight to see!

I can't help but wonder, though, if it's really about everyone else being happy, as it seems to be that if they disagree with the way that something is being done, their only options are to either be quiet or bow out. And maintaining that type of a grip on something that was originally intended to be for fun takes the majority of the fun away.

I cannot make everyone happy, it is impossible. The way I've done the awards the last 3 times seem to be fine with majority and the people who do not have an issue with the way I do things seem really happy with the outcome.

I did not make anyone bow out or be quiet, it was their choice.

Really, there are only two kinds of people that have posted in this thread: There are those who don't agree that others are excluded from helping and that the one counting the votes can also receive votes towards an award, and then there are those who are indifferent. I don't think anyone would be unhappy if you conceded to the requests made by others, meaning that not making everyone happy isn't really a concern here. It's not really justified to ignore the few who would like to see things done a different way just because the majority are indifferent.

I did not make anyone bow out or be quiet, it was their choice.

Earlier you said, "If anyone doesn't feel comfortable with me tallying the votes, feel free to say you dont want to be a part of the awards." Jennie, basically what you are saying to those who would prefer that the vote-counter not be eligible to receive awards is that things are not going to change. That only leaves the choices of either dropping the subject or bowing out. That's not a very considerate position to take and you're offending enough people that this is quickly becoming something that isn't so fun anymore. I'm not in any way trying to attack you--I'm just trying to be a voice of reason.

I've had enough of this. You guys win. I'm just done explaining and trying to make this work. I do the awards the same way every year and it's always been fun, or seemed fun for people who have voted and posted in the ceremony thread.

I have no idea why you guys decided to make this such a big deal but I'm tired of explaining over and over that I have let people help with the awards.

It IS suppose to be fun but when people wont just let something go and drag me down with snarky remarks and then expect me to just agree with them it takes the fun away.

I guess it's not as fun as it use to be since no one else has said otherwise or come to my defense. My mistake.

I'm done.

Let me just go ahead and be unpopular here:

I think the whole CF Awards thing is being seriously over analyzed. It's taking the fun out of it, which is ridiculous because the awards are for fun and fun only. This isn't the Oscars, y'all. I for one think that the awards were handled just fine and that our 'handler' was nothing less than exceptional. What is it that y'all want? Have the one in charge voted off the island? Nay...that would be politics, and why? Because then we'd have to vote someone else in. Or is that y'all are unhappy about the tallying of votes and whatnot? If that's the case, then stop complaining, leave off the subject, and don't bring it up again until you've come up with a solution to the problem. The awards are to be bring CFers together for fellowship and fun, not to drive them away. I think this whole issue is extremely juvenile, uncalled for, and frankly...very unappreciative towards our 'one in charge'. She's not perfect in any way, shape or form, but she busts her butt at these awards for us CFers and does a darn good job of it, too. I think she deserves an apology.
