Spirit-Filled / Charismatic Community Statement of Purpose
This forum is for All Spirit-Filled/Charismatic Members to discuss and Fellowship Together.
Since it is mainly for Discussion and Fellowship we have also given certain additions to that with the use of Thread Tags. These you will find when starting a thread, they will be to the left of the Thread Title.

Those threads without a tag will be considered Discussion/Fellowship Threads. See below for explanation of the various Tags.

WHO WE ARE

Spirit-Filled, Pentecostal and/or Charismatic believers can be from ANY Christian Denomination. They are those who believe that all the various spiritual gifts (or charisms) listed in the New Testament (including but not limited to the manifestations gifts found in I Corinthians 12:8-10) are active in the Church today and desirable in the life of the individual believer, for the edification of the Body of Christ.
It is not a requirement that the individual exercises/exhibits any specific spiritual gift(s).

Definition of Charismatic in THIS forum:

The Divine Trinity is the only source from Whom messages are given. The Gifts of the Holy Spirit emanate from the Divine Trinity through the Holy Spirit. Departed Christians, Angels, or any other being are not involved in this work of God. We believe that the Holy Spirit, One of the Persons of Trinity, speaks forth the words and messages from either the Father or the Son.
The Holy Spirit speaks what He hears from them, and it may be through various ways such as:

  • tongues and interpretation
  • a prophetic word
  • or a word of knowledge

Forum Guidelines:

  1. When speaking about well-known, Revered or highly regarded Past/Present Leaders, Teachers, or Pastors (living or deceased) within the Charismatic faith group, Please show a measure of respect. These Public Religious figures are respected by CF members from a wide range of Charismatic Churches and Movements. Please avoid using inflammatory words or phrases in reference to these Public Religious Figures. Focus on discussing the beliefs and teachings of these Leaders (regardless if it is Biblical or not), but don't mock these Leaders as it disrupts civil discussion.
  2. No Promotion of works, observances or water baptism as a means to gain Salvation or Righteousness, or any other merit, or as mandatory to Christian living. Baptism however may be discussed as a sign of obedience to Christ.
  3. Unorthodox doctrines are not allowed, please post these topics in the Controversial Christian Theology Forum
  4. Do not start threads to discuss Controversial doctrines which are specific to a denomination(s) or a faith group. These topics should be discussed in the appropriate denominational forum(s). This would also include topics or doctrines which are not supported by the Bible, or by the Nicene Creed.

Definition of discussion:
  • The act of talking about something with another person or a group of people : a conversation about something
  • A speech or piece of writing that gives information, ideas, opinions, etc., about something

Definition of debate:
  • A contention by words or arguments: as
a. The formal discussion of a motion before a deliberative body according to the rules of
parliamentary procedure
b. A regulated discussion of a proposition between two matched sides

Discussion and Debate in a Nut Shell:
  • Discussion (non-debate) - The exposition of ideas
  • Debate - The argument of ideas
Thread Tags:

Please use the thread tags located next to the thread title box when you start a new thread. A drop down menu will give four tags to choose from as follows:

full

This is a general tag used to open any thread to discuss a topic of interest. Replies will be discussion in nature, and may even morph into a debate at times.

full

Use this tag for any thread where you just want to share chit chat or discuss a topic with other like-minded members. There should be No debate at all, it is strictly fellowship in nature. The OP of these threads can report their own thread if it crosses the line into debate and staff will assist in a thread clean up (please see above for a definition of debate).

If something is posted which you do not agree with, please make one post only and state, "I do not agree with the topic or viewpoints shared in this thread. I have opened a separate thread to discuss my point of view. The thread is located here." There should be no further points made. The members who are participating in the fellowship thread should not respond to the post because the opposing member is not allowed to reply again in the thread. If anyone thinks a rule is being violated in the fellowship thread they should report it. They should not state that they think the rules are being violated when they make their one post.

full

Please use this thread tag for uninterrupted posting in a thread. These threads can be used for teaching, preaching, Bible studies, and blogging (but note that we do have a blog area available on this site for your enjoyment). No other members should post in threads with this tag, and if they do, just report the post as it was probably an innocent mistake and we will have it removed for you.
  • Maximum of Two (2) teaching threads per poster are allowed.
  • Ask one of the Congregation Category Admins to have your thread Stickied at the top of the forum for you
  • If no NEW true teaching posts are made in Two weeks time, the thread will be unstickied and closed.
  • You may teach if you have a minimum of 500 posts.
  • Please start a Peanut Gallery thread simultaneously for members who wish to ask questions and respond to your teaching-see below...

full

The OP of a teaching thread must also start a separate discussion thread and tag it with this thread tag. Please copy a link to the teaching thread in the OP of the peanut gallery thread for quick reference. The peanut gallery thread tag will function identically to any general discussion thread. Replies will be discussion in nature, or may even morph into a debate at times. Only the OP may start the associated peanut gallery thread.

This is called the peanut gallery thread tag because it brings an element of formality and separation with it, in that formal debaters and lecturers all have discussion groups called peanut galleries available to discuss a teaching or a debate. Most internet forums use this term with formal debate and we are adopting it here to give our teachers more privacy and yet allow for discussion of their teaching.

Homosexuality and Same Sex Marriage
Homosexuality and same sex marriage may be discussed in this forum, however, NO promotion of these topics is allowed. Promotion is defined as encouragement of the progress, growth, or acceptance of something including advertising and publicity.

House Rules:
All posts within this faith community must adhere to the site wide rules found here (Terms of Service and Christian Forum Rules). In addition, if you are not a member of this faith group, you may not debate issues or teach against its theology. You may post in fellowship. Active promotion of views contrary to the established teachings of this group will be considered off topic. Fellowship posts can also include statements that are in alignment with beliefs of the given denomination, even by non-members. They cannot include debate or non-beliefs.

This Forum does not recognize promotion of unorthodox theology teaching threads.
