• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

If OCD attacks your prayers, then sleep. Dealing with an overclocked mind is hard work, rest is necessary more often.
i do sleep. Its the only way to escape the constant need to pray. But when i wake up the problem starts all over again

I had a condition like that once, it drove me mad, I applied scripture spiritually to my thoughts and it drove me more mad - the mad man died, now i'm just incomprehensible - but I can sleep.

This can be a tricky passage for those with OCD. But the way I see it is this: OCD is a disorder, a weakness. It's the "doubting disease." So that means that I will naturally doubt many things with my "OCD conscience" that I wouldn't doubt with my "real conscience." I think it's important to distinguish between the two, and not to count as sin everything that our OCD doubts - which could be just about everything. LOL.

Hey. I must admit there have been times when I've walked into the living room and seen or heard something my husband had on tv and I felt so bad about it, I prayed that I was sorry and asked for forgiveness. I try to watch things that are not real bad. I watch Pureflix a lot. I feel sure your OCD is causing you some fear but at the same time if you feel very strongly that something you are doing is wrong, God may be leading you in another direction. There are some good movies to watch and there is some wonderful music to listen to. Ask God to show you His Will for you!!!!!!!
