Like some said.. no he can not. Makes AWESOME (not to give him glory) guesses. Say someone told you.. think of a number.. this number keeps popping up in your mind.. you pick that number. There ya go.. the person that asked.. just sadly is tuned in to the wrong spirit and hears back what was told to you. There is no time and space where God and Satan are.

Take the time to really look at how THOUGHTS at times ideas just POPUP in your head. You were not even thinking about that. There ya go.. thats how the enemy can work. Is how I see all this.

We know God knows all things.. knows what we need or ask before we pray and answers before we finish a prayer. YET...I don't think GOD reads them all the time. Well take Adam and Eve.. they sin.. Yet GOD has to ASK Adam where are you? Does not GOD know all? God has to ASK Adam who told you did not GOD know already? Who said you were naked..again does not GOD know all? :)

He does! Yet we are FREE..you would no more if you could read someones mind.. then God would. We have no clue as to what we MEAN to Him.

He can occasionally get temporary access to our thoughts in a particular moment, and then he has to leave and does not have access until he can get access again...

He is not all-knowing, nor omnipresent like God is either...

And Just because it may seem that he has access to your thoughts in a particular moment, does not mean he always does, or is always with you or present with you, cause he is not and cannot be, like God can be and is always... He therefore does not know everything about you, or all that has been going on with you in a particular or particular moments, all of your thoughts, ect... He's far from all knowing, and it is impossible for him to be omnipresent... In that way he is limited... He's and angel, a created being and not God, and can only do what angels or and angel can do (or be)...

And if he seems to be there in a particular moment, remember that God is too, and God does not leave you ever... Talk with God about him after he leaves...

    God Bless!

I think Satan can read our thoughts.

Well It seems like from a majority of the responses that Satan cannot read our thoughts. Which, is a relief to me because I want my prayers to God to be private you know? And if I decide to pray with my mind (Which is how I mostly pray because I'm usually in company). I wouldn't want Satan to use those thoughts and prayers against me. It does make sense that Satan can't read your thoughts though because it seems like something only God can do. Like raising the dead for instance. Satan cannot raise the dead.

I knew you would come back with that .
Obviously it is referring to heart and mind.
Your heart doesn't think or have thoughts.
When the word heart is used (as in this verse) it is used to emphasize the point being made, which is only God can know all the thoughts and intents of the mind. I would hope you would understand that.

    Yeah like thoughts. ..
There is no other way to take the meaning of that verse.
But for the fact that you stated you think Satan can read our thoughts and mind leads me to believe there are other verses you might not understand.
    Just saying.

Go and understand scripture in your superior divine intellect and leave me to my "ignorance" then.

    Wow you are angry.
I do not pretend whatsoever of having superior divine intellect as you have stated . That is just silly.
There are verses in the Bible that I don't understand.
    1st Kings 8:39 isn't one of them.
I never stated you were ignorant whatsoever and I never questioned your salvation.
Let the anger go, I meant you no harm.

I believe I've been oppressed by demons and had thoughts implanted in my mind by them. That's why I think it's possible they may know thoughts. They respond to my anger and hate and it feeds them.

I believe children of God can be oppressed by demons as well , but not possessed.
They can influence and tempt you to sin .
I would agree that anger and hate would give place to them.
We are to resist the devil not cast him out.
    Why?
Because he and the demons cannot enter the children of God especially since that is where The Holy Spirit resides.
If anything they would flee .

Our thoughts are chemical reactions that occur in a physical organ. There's no reason why extremely intelligent spiritual beings cannot discern it.

the text from I Kings has to do with God being all knowing.

27 Daniel answered the king and said, “No wise men, enchanters, magicians, or astrologers can show to the king the mystery that the king has asked, there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries, and he has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar what will be in the latter days. Your dream and the visions of your head as you lay in bed are these:

If demons were able to read people's minds, then they would have been available make it known to the enchanters, magicians, or astrologers --- that is assuming a demon was there at the time the King dream.

Logically, they can have a good idea what we are thinking by observing our behaviors.
