A penis with a human face and wearing a hoodie coming into my mind would be wrong at this point of the OP post wouldn't it.

I think he meant "foreskin" instead of "circumcision", but regardless...

This should really be somewhere in the christians only section.

:thumbsup:I ask that question purposefully the way I ask it .Let me put it to you this way.Why should christians be nudists?
I am a christian born again and spirit filled with the evidence of speaking in tounges, yet I am a naturist/nudist.I too am a Pastor, and minister in the nude.I reason this way.Adam was intended to be naked, and he shared the presence of God in the nude.God had intended man to be naked,as He was mans covering.By God, righteousness and Glory was Adams covering in Eden, and he had no shyness nor shame.God was his covering.Adam became shy only once he lost his covering, and had to substitute it with fig leaves, and later animal skin.(provided by God Himself)This is a metaphor of the new federal head of mankind ,Satan.
Later the circumcision became mans covering,co linked with the law as his covering. The new testament declares that we died with Christ on the cross, and once again became covered by God,hanging naked on the cross. We died with him,was buried with him and resurrected with him.The body no longer becomes the instrument of shame,as the Bible declares That we have put on the new man made in the likeness of God,righteousness and glory(Ephes 4).Now the body becomes the temple of God and the dwelling place of God!The temples of Israel were never covered, but exhibited, and God dwelled in it.That was the seat of His presense. So it is with the body now.The body is Gods temple, covered by Christ, and indwelled by God....should it be hidden and covred?or should it be naked....
What I wonder about is what do people think of Gen 3:15. This was long before the law.

If a Christian is being a nudist, is he following the leading of the Holy Spirit or is he following the leading of the flesh?

We are supposed to aspire to be like Jesus. I don't think He ever walked around in the nude, much less preached in the nude.

Blessings,

Alan

Poenah,

So....is it safe for me to assume that you think that Jesus and the early disciples and apostles all share(d) in your present view on Christianity and nudity? (Didn't Jesus have a garment on most of the time, until it was taken and divided up at the crucifixion?)

Peace

I don't think there is an issue with it. Nudity is not inherently sexual. Sure, there are passages you could use to argue against it but I think it all depends on interpretation and the definition of "clothed" etc.

God was fine with me being born without clothes, so I don't see why He would mind if I lived without them as well!

If I didn't live with family, I would not wear clothes around the house. I have always been bothered by the way clothing feels on my skin, and when I'm very stressed I actually strip out of whatever I'm wearing because it overloads me (always in a private place, though).

We must aspire to be like Jesus, that is true. But remember we are humans living on earth with certain things that differ. Jesus never married, that wasn't why He came. As humans we can and should differ from one another, as long as we don't justify sin. For example, Paul writes that one person consider a day more important than another, another person consider all days to be equal, both to the glory of God.
We know what sin are, by studying the word of God, not by what society recons it to be. But we should consider the feelings of others, as Paul does when dealing with the issue of eating meat offer to other gods or not.
Rom14:22: Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth. (KJ)
We should not force things on others, and we should live by faith in all we do.
There is much more to say but I'll refrain.
Love You in Jesus

I agree. Just as wearing clothes doesn't equate abstinence, nudity doesn't equate sex. Lust will be lust with or without clothes, just as theft is theft with or without clothes. But I think we should take people into consideration when going around in the nude. If it is a problem for them then I will not undress in their presence. But they should not come into "my space" and then want's me to conform to their standards.(For example at a naturist resort, etc.) Let's consider one another in love.
Love you in Christ

I am not a Jew, thus no Sabbath for me. I am not under the law of Moses but under the laws of Christ, Look a the reason for the Sabbath. Then let's get back to being a Christian and a naturist.
In Deuteronomy 5, Moses restates the Ten Commandments to the next generation of Israelites. Here, after commanding Sabbath observance in verses 12–14, Moses gives the reason the Sabbath was given to the nation Israel: “Remember that you were slaves in Egypt and that the Lord your God brought you out of there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. Therefore the Lord your God has commanded you to observe the Sabbath day” (Deuteronomy 5:15).

So you think it's ok to go nude because God was fine with you being born without clothes. By the same reasoning, if God objected to you going nude then He would have had you be born in a pair of jeans and a sweater, and high heals.

Have you ever noticed that the first thing they do with a new born baby is to wrap in in a blanket. Even baby Jesus was wrapped in swaddling clothes.

If you want to go naked in the privacy of your own home then that's fine. But when you go out do us a favor and please dress.

Blessings

I think they wrap a newborn up to keep it warm. I mean, it has just spent nine months in an environment averaging near 100F.

If I had the luck of finding a community of nudists where nudity was lawful and accepted in public, then I'd be in heaven :p Of course I'd keep my clothes on in public in a regular community! That seems so silly to ask me to do.

God hasn't struck me down yet for thinking that nudity is OK, so I think I'm doing pretty good.
