No. It that required to be saved?
Do you not what to know God's Word?
I don't believe He became a curse for us. Becoming a curse for someone does not make the obey the commandments.
I beg to differ, because in Galatians,Paul explicitly states that Christ became a curse for us! This is the Gospel.
The Righteous Shall Live by Faith
10For all who rely on works of the law are under a curse; for it is written,
“Cursed be everyone who does not abide by all things written in the Book of the Law, and do them.” 11 Now
it is evident that no one is justified before God by the law, for “The righteous shall live by faith.”
12 But the law is not of faith, rather “The one who does them shall live by them.”
13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us—for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree”—
14 so that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we might receive the promised Spirit through faith.
The reason why Christ became a curse for us is,"so that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles,so that we might receive the PROMISED SPIRIT THROUGH FAITH." Paul is lucid and concise here to make a contrast between the Law and the Gospel. One only condemns us and the other gives us life freely through a Promise which is received through Faith Alone apart from any works on our part!
For Paul's statement to be established, you need two or three witnesses. Care to produce them? I'll be waiting.
I don't know what you are asking here.Unless you mean that the Scriptures cannot be true unless they have 3 witnesses? i do hold the Covenant of Redemption where this Covenant Promise was made between the Godhead.
Of whom is David speaking in
Psalm 37:25?
I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.
David saw the righteous. Was David just dreaming? Was he delusional? Zacharias and Elisabeth were righteous; Was Luke delusional also?
Okay I see that you think they were righteous through the Law,correct? Please then reconcile this passage to Romans 3,if you would? Because I do not deny they are declared righteous, but not through the Law but through faith Alone apart from works.Read Hebrews 11.
Do you know where Paul got this?
Psalm53
1 The fool hath said in his heart, there is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.
2 God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God.
3 Every one of them is gone back: they are altogether become filthy; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
4 Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread: they have not called upon God.
David is speaking of 'fools who have said in their heart', there is no God, and workers of iniquity. Did every person in the OT say in their heart there is no God?
So you believe in Pelagianism that men are not evil, but good. And that they possess good qualities and can make a free-will decision apart from God's Grace? Because Romans 3 still states that NO ONE IS RIGHTEOUS or GOOD.So how can you deny this statement? There is no need to complicate this.
Does everyone practice deceit? Is everyone swift to shed blood? Do all men have no fear of God?
So then not all men need a Savior? Because Christ came only to heal the sick, not the Righteous!
Christ wasn't revealed at the time Luke wrote of Zacharias and Elisabeth; how can one put faith in something not revealed?
Excellent question. In God's Promise to Adam & Eve that he will send a seed that will crush the serpent's head!
Hebrews 11
By Faith
1Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. 2For by it the people of old received their commendation.
3By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible.
4By faith Abel offered to God a more acceptable sacrifice than Cain, through which he was
commended as righteous, God commending him by accepting his gifts. And through
his faith, though he died, he still speaks.
5By faith Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death, and he was not found, because God had taken him. Now before he was taken he was commended as having pleased God.
6And
without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
7By faith Noah, being warned by God concerning events as yet unseen, in reverent fear constructed an ark for the saving of his household. By this he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith.
8By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place that he was to receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going.
9By faith he went to live in the land of promise, as in a foreign land, living in tents with Isaac and Jacob, heirs with him of the same promise.
10For he was looking forward to the city that has foundations, whose designer and builder is God.
11By faith Sarah herself received power to conceive, even when she was past the age, since she considered him faithful who had promised.
12Therefore from one man, and him as good as dead, were born descendants as many as the stars of heaven and as many as the innumerable grains of sand by the seashore.
13These all died in faith,
not having received the things promised, but having seen them and greeted them from afar, and having acknowledged that they were strangers and exiles on the earth.
14For people who speak thus make it clear that they are seeking a homeland.
15If they had been thinking of that land from which they had gone out, they would have had opportunity to return.
16But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared for them a city.
17By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac, and he who had received the promises was in the act of offering up his only son,
18of whom it was said, “Through Isaac shall your offspring be named.”
19He considered that God was able even to raise him from the dead, from which, figuratively speaking, he did receive him back.
20By faith Isaac invoked future blessings on Jacob and Esau.
21By faith Jacob, when dying, blessed each of the sons of Joseph, bowing in worship over the head of his staff.
22By faith Joseph, at the end of his life, made mention of the exodus of the Israelites and gave directions concerning his bones.
23By faith Moses, when he was born, was hidden for three months by his parents, because they saw that the child was beautiful, and they were not afraid of the king’s edict.
24By faith Moses, when he was grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter,
25choosing rather to be mistreated with the people of God than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin.
26He considered the reproach of Christ greater wealth than the treasures of Egypt, for he was looking to the reward.
27By faith he left Egypt, not being afraid of the anger of the king, for he endured as seeing him who is invisible.
28By faith he kept the Passover and sprinkled the blood, so that the Destroyer of the firstborn might not touch them.
29By faith the people crossed the Red Sea as on dry land, but the Egyptians, when they attempted to do the same, were drowned.
30By faith the walls of Jericho fell down after they had been encircled for seven days.
31By faith Rahab the prostitute did not perish with those who were disobedient, because she had given a friendly welcome to the spies.
32And what more shall I say? For time would fail me to tell of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, of David and Samuel and the prophets—
33who
through faith conquered kingdoms, enforced justice, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,
34quenched the power of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, were made strong out of weakness, became mighty in war, put foreign armies to flight.
35Women received back their dead by resurrection. Some were tortured, refusing to accept release, so that they might rise again to a better life.
36Others suffered mocking and flogging, and even chains and imprisonment.
37They were stoned, they were sawn in two,
a they were killed with the sword. They went about in skins of sheep and goats, destitute, afflicted, mistreated—
38of whom the world was not worthy—wandering about in deserts and mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.
39And all these, though commended
through their faith, did not receive what was promised,
40since God had provided something better for us, that apart from us they should not be made perfect.
So its by Faith In God and trust in his Promises that he WILL provide a Redeemer to save his people from their sins.Nit by obeying the Law to earn God's justice to merit Salvation, but by Christ fulfilling the Law for us through his perfect Obedience.
I've just shown you people were justified through the law.
In Galatians 2,Paul says that NO FLESH will be justified through the Law." because by works of the law no one will be justified." (Galatians 2:16)
Only one person was justified through the Law,and that is Christ Jesus who came not to abolish the Law,but to fulfill it.
Where does the Bible say people are saved by believing in God's promise to Abraham? You make up too much stuff for me to take you seriously.
You are so quick to judge me.Swift to bring judgment upon me.Instead you should read, studying before making such comments.Because there is only one who can judge me,correct?
Abrahamic Promise
The Law and the Promise
15To give a human example, brothers: even with a man-made covenant, no one annuls it or adds to it once it has been ratified.
16Now the promises were made to Abraham and to his offspring. It does not say, “And to offsprings,” referring to many, but referring to one, “And to your offspring,” who is Christ.
17This is what I mean: the law, which came 430 years afterward, does not annul a covenant previously ratified by God, so as to make the promise void.
18For if the inheritance comes by the law, it no longer comes by promise;
but God gave it to Abraham by a promise.
19Why then the law? It was added because of transgressions, until the offspring should come to whom the promise had been made, and it was put in place through angels by an intermediary.
20Now an intermediary implies more than one, but God is one.
21Is the law then contrary to the promises of God? Certainly not! For if a law had been given that could give life, then righteousness would indeed be by the law.
22But the Scripture imprisoned everything under sin,
so that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.
23Now before faith came, we were held captive under the law, imprisoned until the coming faith would be revealed.
24So then, the law was our guardian until Christ came, in order that we might be justified by faith.
25But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian,
26for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith.
27For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
28There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave
g nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
29And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s offspring, heirs according to promise.
If you can find it where people are saved by believing in God's promise to Abraham, could you please find two or more witnesses to establish it?
I can find it because its the Covenant of Grace, the Pure Gospel that Paul preached.
God’s Covenant with Abram Genesis 15
1After these things the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision: “Fear not, Abram, I am your shield; your reward shall be very great.”
2But Abram said, “O Lord GOD, what will you give me, for I continue
a childless, and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?”
3And Abram said, “Behold, you have given me no offspring, and a member of my household will be my heir.”
4And behold, the word of the LORD came to him: “This man shall not be your heir; your very own son
bshall be your heir.”
5And he brought him outside and said, “Look toward heaven, and number the stars, if you are able to number them.” Then he said to him, “So shall your offspring be.”
6And he believed the LORD, and he counted it to him as righteousness.
7And he said to him, “I am the LORD who brought you out from Ur of the Chaldeans to give you this land to possess.”
8But he said, “O Lord GOD, how am I to know that I shall possess it?”
9He said to him, “Bring me a heifer three years old, a female goat three years old, a ram three years old, a turtledove, and a young pigeon.”
10And he brought him all these, cut them in half, and laid each half over against the other. But he did not cut the birds in half.
11And when birds of prey came down on the carcasses, Abram drove them away.
12As the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell on Abram. And behold, dreadful and great darkness fell upon him.
13Then the LORD said to Abram, “Know for certain that your offspring will be sojourners in a land that is not theirs and will be servants there, and they will be afflicted for four hundred years.
14But I will bring judgment on the nation that they serve, and afterward they shall come out with great possessions.
15As for you, you shall go to your fathers in peace; you shall be buried in a good old age.
16And they shall come back here in the fourth generation, for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet complete.”
17When the sun had gone down and it was dark, behold, a smoking fire pot and a flaming torch passed between these pieces.
18On that day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, “To your offspring I give
c this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the river Euphrates,
19the land of the Kenites, the Kenizzites, the Kadmonites,
20the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Rephaim,
21the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Girgashites and the Jebusites.”
This is the Redemptive-Historical Revelation of the Eschatological Adam to Redeem his people from their sins. This can be found throughout the Scriptures from Genesis to Revelation.
