I know many Calvinists. Not one of them has said that he knows himself to be among the Elect, and "Calvinism" considers this to be something known to God but not to all of us.
I'm among the elect... You know how I know? I believe the Gospel.

All right. I hardly ever have heard a Calvinist say such a thing. But on the other hand, this isn't what Calvinism itself teaches, and I have no way of knowing if "ClothedInGrace" is a Calvinist or not or even what denomination he belongs to.

Honestly, the last thing Calvinism should do is make one prideful and arrogant. We believe salvation is entirely a work of God's grace, and everyone He chooses to save is an unworthy sinner. Where does merit or pride fit into that view?

Can we get back to the question I asked you about what do you think the definition of the Grace of God is? I was asking for a reason

I answered it: See post #919. God's grace is His unmerited favor and blessings towards unworthy sinners.

Jesus only died for the sins of His elect then?
Yes, His sheep: Everyone who believes and is saved. Some are not his sheep.

If He died for every single person as some believe, then no one would be sent to the lake of fire because justice was already served on the cross.

John 10:11
“I am the good shepherd; the good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep."

John 10:24-30
The Jews then gathered around Him, and were saying to Him, “How long will You keep us in suspense? If You are the Christ, tell us plainly.” Jesus answered them, “
I told you, and you do not believe; the works that I do in My Father’s name, these testify of Me. But you do not believe because you are not of My sheep. My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.”

How? We are saved by God because of who He is, not because of who we are. If anyone should have pride it is the Arminian, who of their free will choose God while others did not. They have something to boast about, but not the Calvinist, because we say it is all of God.

Actually, we are saved because of what He did for us, so that who ever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. What this says to me is, Christ died for us to give us the chance to have everlasting life. If we choose to rely on Him for everlasting life, then He gives it to us. If we reject Him, then we don't have it.

I don't disagree with you. Although, I believe Christ died to actually secure eternal life for us, not just give us a chance at it. But that's because I believe in election, while you may not.

The arrogance I experienced from Calvanists in person is when I was starting out as a believer and had so many questions about salvation and whether or not I had it. The Calvanists then treated me like I was just some pesky outsider who wasn't elect and therefore not worth their time.

Well, I would rebuke them. Calvinists should be gracious to everyone in the same way God was gracious to them.

It sounds clear to me from John 3:16. I tried to copy/paste the verse, but get a bunch of gobbledy gook when I try. But you know it already.

So why do you think he elected some people for salvation while leaving others to be doomed?

How else would God's full glory be revealed? He will be glorified for His justice against sinners and for His grace in choosing to save some. If He saved everyone then we would not see His justice: If He saved no one then we would not see His grace and mercy. So He has chosen to save some to fully glorify Himself in love for us who will witness it at the fullness of the times.

Romans 9:19-24
You will say to me then, “Why does He still find fault? For who resists His will?” On the contrary, who are you, O man, who answers back to God? The thing molded will not say to the molder, “Why did you make me like this,” will it? Or does not the potter have a right over the clay, to make from the same lump one vessel for honorable use and another for common use? What if God, although willing to demonstrate His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction? And He did so to make known the riches of His glory upon vessels of mercy, which He prepared beforehand for glory, even us, whom He also called, not from among Jews only, but also from among Gentiles.

Yup.

I cannot tell you how many times I've seen a confused Christain wonder if they are saved and along comes the Calvinist ..... If you do not know that you are saved, then were not one of the elect to begin with.

Or ... You cannot choose God, if God doesn't draw you you are not saved.

Or ... There is NOTHING you can do to save yourself, if God has not drawn you then your not saved.

Makes me so angry I want to spit!
