Can someone please explain to me the relationship between BTVS and Angle? Angle comes after Buffy if I'm not mistaken, but in Buffy Buffy kills Angle, and I thought I heard in Angle Buffy dies, so how does that all work together?

For those who haven't seen both Shows very often and would like to be surprised.... SPOILERS ABOUND, MATEYS.

In an earlier season of Buffy, Angel decides that due to his curse (Can't achieve perfect happiness or he'll go all evil again), he can't be with Buffy, because that's something that makes him happy. He's afraid that he may reach perfect happiness with her again and go evil (like what happened in season 2 of Buffy).

When Angel leaves, there comes a spinoff show called Angel (Who'da thunk it?). The earlier Angel Seasons sometimes ran paralell to the Buffy shows and there were several crossovers between the two episodes. However, once Buffy moved to Fox, they couldn't cross the shows over anymore.

As for Buffy dying, well... she's died several times in the show. The time she died in season 6... or was it 5? I can't remember.. :p It was crossed over into Angel with Willow showing up in LA to tell him. Angel goes off to brood in some oriental monestary, before coming back, finally deciding he's moved on. Or so he thought. Buffy comes back and it starts over again... ;)

Technically, SP, Buffy moved to UPN.... both Angel and Buffy were still produced by 20th Century Fox, however. But the UPN and WB had bad blood... crossovers were verboten until the final Buffy season.

Other than that, good job with the info-providing (and Buffy died in season 5 finale, where the WB pretended it was a series finale, angering Joss who already knew there was a 6th season, just on another network).

Ahh, okay. I just got my networks mixed up. I knew there was some friction between the WB and some other network that Buffy moved to, but I got mixed up as to which. :p

And as for me getting the gist of it pretty well... well... I had a good teacher. ;)

I think in the Buffyverse every dimension has a Hell of its own... or at least it seems that way. What with Quortoth, and that other place, and that place that I can't remember its name. ;) I'm so helpful.

Hell would probably be pretty sucky indeed.

That was the one thing that I had a hard time "believing", if you will.

Here are a bunch of people living on a Hell-mouth, right? Every year, around June, their City would be overrun, and basically ruined by a bunch of demons. Their school would explode with a gigantic snake inside it, and people would be getting killed almost constantly.

And people still thought it'd be a great idea to live there?

And where was Diane Sawyer, doing an in-depth journalistic piece about all the weird stuff happening?

;)

Maybe a demon ate her. ;)

Eh, shows like Buffy and Angel, you just gotta suspend disbelief for the sake of storytelling.

It also makes one wonder, since LA is full of demons too, and from what it's been mentioned, so is Cleveland, Miami, (Your city/town here), how come nobody has mentioned it on the news about seeing any demons, or if they're so common, why are most 'normal people' like "EEAAAAAUUUGH!" when they see a vampire, or whatever other of the plethora of supernatural beings out there?

It's just one of many little quirks to the 'verse that fans have learned to like... or to ignore. ;)

This was given a caveat in the second episode of Buffy. Buffy was wondering how everyone was acting so normal, even though they'd all seen vamps try to kill everyone...

Giles said "People tend to rationalize what they can, and forget what they can't."

Basically, people aren't ready to accept what's staring them in the face.

But yeah... that's a LOT of forgetting and rationalizing...

This thread has been here a while. I'm sure a few mods at least have seen it. Obviously they see no problem with it, so don't worry about it, Lukey321. If you don't watch it anymore, fine. If you think it's bad, fine... don't watch it. We have no problems with it in this thread, and it's not affected our relationship with God at all in our view.

It's just a TV show. Nothing more, nothing less.
