It's just a TV show. Nothing more, nothing less.

Agreed.

It wasn't a thread created to provoke, annoy, tempt, or any other offence. Honestly. It is a show that we happen to enjoy. As christians( or even non christians) with personal taste, and conviction we are going to differ on many of our views. I can understand that it may be offensive to some and if you find it offensive please feel free not to visit this thread. That is what I do when I find some threads offensive. I do not believe anyone here is trying to offend anyone.

So, I just got this private message asking me to stop talking about Buffy.

Um, no. I'm not breaking any forum rules as far as I'm concerned. If I am, please point them out to me.

In the meantime, I thought "Hush" was the best episode.

I thought Hush was an excellent ep. One of my favs. I loved the creepy way they made the gentlemen float, coupled with no speaking , just added to the drama aspect.

The funnier part of the show was when they were watching Giles with his project in the auditorium that whole part was funny.

I liked the twist at the end, that when they were able to speak, Riley and Buffy spoke briefly and then just stared at each other without speaking.

Thprojector in "Hush" was very e auditorum bit with the funny :). I also liked the part where Xander called Buffy on the phone and Spike gave him such a funny look like... "Xander, you bloody idiot!"

I forgot about that part, thanks for reminding me. Spike can be so funny sometimes:D

This is not the thing to be talking about on a christian website
i used to love buffy the vampire slayer, but there's nothing chirstian about, so please stop or i'll report you

Um... are you serious?

its just a tv show of good overcoming evil, which IS a christian theme. Its jjust fictionalized.

FYI demons (and angels) DO roam the earth and influece ppl every single day

Have you ever read the christian book "this present darkness"?

It is fiction, BUT, a very real representation of the spiritual world around us.

Spiritual warfare is like buffy but invisible and dont with brutal faith, not fists and stakes.

So, moral ambiguities of Buffy....

OK, here's one. Should Xander have told Buffy, in season 2's finale, that Willow was going to try to re-ensoul Angel again? He was told to tell her, but instead said "kick his a**".

Did he do the right thing?

I think he thought he was doing the right thing. I don't think he was. He was lying that wasn't what Willow said. He didn't trust Buffy enough to make the right decision. She killed Angel even though he changed and she knew it. Once it started it couldn't be stopped until he was dead. Who knows if that would have thrown Buffy off her game if she thought he was gonna change or tried to wait for him to change. She still should have had the correct information. He also carried a crush for Buffy and resented Angel. Deep down inside , he may have also been quite selfish in his decision.
Just my honest opinion :)

Hmm... well, let's see here...

Did Buffy do the right thing when she "resigned" from the Council's hold over her in season 3? Obviously understandable, but... was it the right thing to do?

I say it was. The Council just didn't get it, they weren't where she was, seeing what she saw. So, I think she did the right thing.

Agreed, I don't think they were as supportive of her as they should have been. Esp. when they had Giles do their "test" on her. It seemed like they thought she was there to serve their best interest and not the other way around. It was a little like some corporate policies, some look good on paper but are not practical in the real world.

Welcome aboard tulc:)

To carry this on a bit further...

The First Slayer did not have a Watcher's Council. So the Council eventually gets set up and it's purpose is to help the Slayer... But then that mission gets perverted and it becomes that the Slayer is there to help the Council...

Something about power corrupting seems to come to mind here. Anyone else get that vibe from what's known of the council?

It does seem that the Council screws up their end quite often... and Wes, when he was first introduced, seemed to be the personification of all the Council's screw-ups... but he came through in the end, offering to help, even if he himself was disobeying Council orders.
