BREXIT: Revocation

This is about the peoples choice, They voted leave in 2016. But it is not a dishonest analysis of the results to see a majority for Remain in the voting patterns from the EU election. Particluarly since all the latest polls on this issue put Remain on top. Whatever the Tory and Labour party politicians committed to in their manifestos was decisively rejected by the electorate and a clear demand for revision of those policies was declared. The BREXIT party wants a hard BREXIT as soon as possible and thought the Tories were simply not delivering. The Lib Dems and Greens and Nationalists and Change who together got some 6% more votes than the BREXIT and UKIP combined rejected the deal on the table and expressed a clear preference to remain in Europe. The official policies of both parties will probably be revised as a result of the wipe outs that Labour and the Tories experienced. The Tories are likely to elect a hard BREXiTEER though how he is going to implement that against the wish of parliament and the people is anyones guess. Labour are dominated by hard left activists who want to build a Marxist state in the aftermath of the BREXIT disaster and what they think will be the inevitable fall of the Tory government after implementing BREXIT. So as long as these people are in charge of Labour any calls for a second referendum might not even include an option to vote remain.

In your blind desire for BREXIT you are missing what is happening here. BREXIT is going to be a disaster, Corbyn will probably become PM in the wake of that disaster and that will mean a double whammy for Britain with a government that cannot rule in charge of an unmitigated disaster.

The only way out of this dilemma is Revocation and the public actually see that and want that. What is criminal here is the deliberate obstruction of their politicians and especially in the Labour party of their expressed wishes.

There's no point in me entering into a discussion with someone who calls black white and good evil.
Until you start using the normal commonly accepted interpretations of words, sentences, and arithmetic, instead of your private meanings, you will REMAIN entirely correct in your own little world.

Why did the people vote BREXIT in the first place. IN part to simply stick it to the man in charge in Westminster who was massively unpopular and a complete phony.

People had been campaigning to leave the EU whilst Cameron was still at school!

Are you for real? The facts speak for themselves. A dispassionate analysis of the results reveals an underlying majority for remain in these EU election numbers. A fact denied by the two main parties who appear to still be committed to BREXIT despite the strong remain inclinations of many of their supporters. A fact supported by recent polling on Europe and by this article in the Guardian for instance.

I could say the same thing about any trade deal with the EU, at least any that is put in place before Brexit. Say whatever else you want about WTO trade rules, at least they provide a level playing field.

If the UK negotiates with the US the way it negotiated with the EU, then yes, you may be right.

Sorry but the UK trades freely within the EU, and is able to take full advantage of trade deals negotiated by the EU. And guess what a body that has the economies of Germany, France and the UK etc. Is able to negotiate far better trade deals than individual countries on there own.

Put it this way if you are a supermarket chain with 50 outlets, will you get a better deal from suppliers than one with 500 outlets?

We developed core competencies which prospered on a European level e.g. Banks, insurance. The cost of this was industries that did not compete on that level e.g. British Leyland. Per capita income doubled in the UKs time in Europe (though it has largely stalled since 2007). But now the UK is on a par with France and Germany whereas before it lagged behind them.

The cost of BREXIT will be felt most keenly by those companies that did best in a full European context. Maybe there does need to be a rebalancing of the British economy but the jury is still out as to whether that will leave people as a whole better off.

I owned a manufacturing business about 12 years ago which was completely destroyed through unfair competition created by the EU.

My customers suddenly started buying elsewhere, and as we located their source in the EU, we found they could buy the finished products far cheaper than we could possibly buy the raw materials.

Our competitors were 2 brand new factories, filled with hundreds of brand new machines, all to the highest specifications.
The whole enterprise was directly funded by special grants from the EU, which were not available in the UK.

We stood no chance whatsoever.
Countless UK businesses have been destroyed by EU mass interference in the market place.

Corbyn continues to dither and a referendum on revocation looks unlikely at this point. This despite recent polling and the European result which indicate a majority for Remain.

As an American, I'm fine with having full and free trade with England. The problems don't occur when we trade with other first world countries. Its probably too late, now with the Muslim problem there but in a previous Era I would have been OK with open borders with a non EU England as well. There is no country on earth with which we have shared as much. Except for that little scuffle we had to get to this point.

In fact I think a free trade zone involving the US, Canada, the UK, Australia, and New Zealand would work well.

You do not want to hear a result that contradicts your outlook but a honest look at the evidence of the recent election coupled with recent polling indicates a majority for Remain of about 52-48. Which means that if Boris wins he will be leading Britain into the abyss against the will of the people.

It’s worse than that, in reneging on paying the 39 billion owed the UKs lenders are likely to downgrade our credit rating. Coupled with big tax cuts, the UK will be an economic basket case.
