'Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness '

'Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness for they shall be satisfied' (Matthew 5:6) Why is it so essential to hunger and thirst after righteousness and why is there such satisfaction in seeking it?

Because that person will be open to the Gospel?

John 3
19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

We can hunger and thirst for righteousness now and be satisfied! And that satisfaction shall last through all eternity. Praise God!

The 'born again' believer,who hungers and thirsts after righteousness will be satisfied with the Goodness of God!
