Moral clarity and simple Good vs. Evil are boring. Real life isn't so clear cut.Well...I watched a bunch of episodes up through ~210 recently (minitheatre.org rocks!).
This is an interesting anime. It has its problems with moral clarity at times (like all animes seem to). It does seem to still generally point to good vs evil.
Of all the characters there I'm disapointed by Kenpachi Zaraki. This character really isn't glorified though and the Bount Arc did tell some of that story.

I guess you could say that. It's not as ambivalent as some other anime I've watched, like Lelouch. But I wouldn't say they're necessarily operating on a western or Judeo-Christian morality.Maybe Im missing something, but aren't Ichigo and gang clearly ment to be good and Aizen and gang clearly ment to be evil? Seems quite clear cut.....
I dunno lol, I suppose it is unclear whether the laws of soul society are good or not, seeing that Central 46 seem to be so unintelligent and immoral in their laws.
Actually, I think that was just a personal statement concerning belief in God. Aizen mentioned God (or the King, which is practically equivalent in this series, I'd say) when he defected. He quoted the purported emptiness on the Throne and his desire to be the one to fill it.True, but some people can see Aizen as good, Ichigo as naiive, and Soul Society as needing a significant change. Now that Central 46 is gone, though, I don't see a major need for any more change. (Note I'm actually on Ichigo & co.'s side)
And in the latest anime episode, I won't go into any details so as not to spoil anything for anyone, but one of the Shinigami stated that they have no God. So it's pretty clear cut right there.
That's true, you're right.Qyöt27;51419462 said:Actually, I think that was just a personal statement concerning belief in God. Urahara really is awesome. Not to mention his Zanpakuto is one of my top favorites.I have recently gotten into Bleach and I really enjoy it. However, no one has mentioned my favorite character Kisuke Urahara (Mr. Hat and Clogs). First you get the mystery with him, then you get depth as you find out more about him. He is actually one of the things that I like best about any TV series. I haven't watched past season 3, and I know that most of the happenings were his fault, but I really like him and think I will be him for Halloween this year.
Nel is definitely awesome. I wish she could have had more screen time. After the Final Battles, I wonder what she will do? Maybe she could team up with the other Shinigami?I love Bleach. Nel is one my favorite girls from Bleach(adult form FTW.)
As for the godlessness, the Spirit King could be considered a god of sorts. It really doesn't matter in my book since Bleach is fictional
The single thing that I think disrupted that was when it cut back to HM a couple weeks ago - the first couple chapters were really promising. So much more could have been done with the Ichigo/Yammy fight, but it got shunted. I dunno, maybe there's a deadline or something to be had and what resulted was the easiest way to resolve that issue.Yes, even a cameo from Nel would improve the manga. Atm, it has really degraded in quality.
