Hey Moriah

That's me...former tarot reader and dabbler in the occult.

I have always had a Christian influence in my life, but I finally 'got it' and turned my back on the occult last year. I was confirmed in my church last November, and know God loves me and has waited patiently for me.

Please count me in...

Love and blessings,

V. L. xxxx

dabbler???

Please could you clarify how you are using this phrase because I suspect that for me that may mean something a little darker than most use the phrase and I do not want to assume how you are using this label.

*chaotic metaphysical thinker who is still very dark in outlook asking*

Don't feel bad, I am currently reading a 2 volume book on medieval theological philosophy... for recreational purposes. As well as Tertium Organum by Ouspensky. That is as close to "fiction" as I go as far as reading is concerned...aside from the occasional Dan Brown novel.

^_^

Sounds like you know how to really have fun.

Having spent a few months thinking should I should not I I bought a new journal book, all gorgeous hand stiching and archivial quality paper. I think it might be an intresting personnal excercise to record my thoughts and perceptions on God. I have not seriously journalled for five years just in case I inadvertantly went back down the black rabbit hole but now I can and IF my silly work hours will allow I would like to create some carpet pages.

BTW has anyone else read Gareth Medways book on the lure of the sinster?

Icon change?

Wize you hold on to the end of that theather that is Christ.

You do not have to cease to think to follow Christ.
Nor do you have to cease to question and ponder.

And you certainly do not have to accept Christian magick!

If its really gone dark and screaming at someone may help pm me or email me.

THAT good?
At times. I just read about a demon stabbing someone with the Spear of Destiny and placing '8' rings inside their body somewhere that had to be removed and placed upon the fingers to stop the burning....
Sounds like Hell-Boy meets Saw and Lord of the Rings...

What to look for in a vibrant and living church.

Spent some time this morning thinking what would be signs of a life lived following Christ in a Church fellowship.

I think all of us have walked into church at its potentially and sometimes worse so I pondered what would be church at its best.

Now churches have times when they are more in sync with following Christ than others just as we are but overall the love of Christ should be the motivating reason for the community of believers meeting together. I think it would best be demonstrated;

  • When making and supporting disciples matters far more than the church 'programme' and planning strategies.

  • When the huge majority treat following Christ as an adventure to be lived and not simply meetings to be organised.

  • When people are mysteries to be loved and not problems that need to be tidied up and solved

  • When the greatest amount of energy is spent in really living for Christ and not in analysing life
Anyone else got any ideas of how Church could offer a better form of 'fellowship' today especially to meet the needs of ex(insert path of old choice)?

I'm done with the DM forum........ If you notice an icon change over the next few days dont be surprised.......
I'm about ready to say the same. You notice I'm not there as much. The Lord has so many other wayyyy more interesting places He's been leading me -- when I go back there it's like crawling back into a sandbox full of diapered kiddies, y'know? I feel torn because SOMEBODY has to change those messy pants and try to help them learn some manners ... but I'm just less and less certain these days that "somebody" is me. I feel that -- especially over the past few weeks -- the Lord has begun to solidify in me a more focused sense of calling and mission and I know my own focus mentally has been SOOOO different -- a lot healthier I think, too -- and I'm really excited about what He is doing in my life!! I feel like I'm gaining momentum in the Spirit and I just don't have time anymore for tussling with the foolishness of those determined to glorify demons, tarbrush those trying to help them, AND at the same time pull a holier-than-thou wool over their own eyes.

Make sense?
