I have to say i totally agree with the bishop francis is a fundamental danger to the faith and the souls he is supposed to care for

Bishop Schneider: “Convert” or “renounce the papacy”

9 And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven. (Matthew 23)

48 But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren?
49 And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!
50 For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother. (Matthew 12)

40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day. (John 6)

23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; (Romans 3).

Papa of Rome??? There is only one Papa - the Heavenly Father! Amen!!!!!!!!!!

Quick, tell St. Paul before he writes anything else! But wait, the Holy Spirit wrote what Paul recorded, did He not? Yet Paul / the Holy Spirit declares in Scripture of other "fathers", even Paul himself!

1Cor 4:15 For though you have countless guides in Christ, you do not have many fathers. For I became your father in Christ Jesus through the gospel.

1Thes 2:11 for you know how, like a father with his children, we exhorted each one of you and encouraged you and charged you

Phlm 1:10 I appeal to you for my child, Onesimus, whose father I have become in my imprisonment.

If Paul can be their father in Christ Jesus, why cannot the Pope? Or another teacher or leader in Christ?

By "he is infaliable", I meant God, not the Pope. I thought that was clear from the context, but I guess it was because I didn't capitalize "He".
I would not call God merely infallible, so I took the context to be about the pope. He, the pope, is infallible in only limited circumstances. Some of us tend to expand those circumstances in our minds. That was particularly easy with John Paul II and Benedict, who were so extraordinary.

This is VERY VERY different, when a person calls himself a father allegorically to explain a truth, and when others address him Holy Father... It's blasphemy!!! Only one Father in Heaven for all, including Paul!!!!!!!!!

9 And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven. (Matthew 23)

Paul never did the above!!! And never demanded anybody to do the above!!!

NO PAPA !!! ONLY GOD IS OUR HEAVENLY FATHER !!!

Yeah, I just have to say that threads like this are actually encouraging. I had this impression that Catholics had to march lock-step with whatever the Pope at the time said, like it was some sort of Hive Mind thing. So to see some questioning certain things indicates a healthy approach, imo. Catholicism is pretty awesome in many ways, and this is one of them.
some of us, myself included, have tended to think every comment, every nuance, every thought of the pope had to be an expression of God's will. But that was never actually the case. Infallibility, which I do believe in, is a limited thing which can be seen as God's protection for the Church from an errant pope. Not everything Francis does is God ordained. Then too not everything pope John Paul the Great did was perfect either. He was indeed a great man of God but not infallible in everything.

If you only had a clue about what Jesus was actually talking about when he said to call no man 'father'. It was to put a stop to factions where a person was the father of a faction. Like Luther the father of Lutheranism, Calvin the father of Calvinism, Arminius the father of Arminianism, Wesley the father of Wesleyanism. It is clear from Paul that we have spiritual fathers. They should not be fathers of particular factions or schisms. That is the problem Jesus wanted to head off.

So? Popes go to confession. Nobody here has claimed that popes do not sin. Infallibility has nothing AT ALL to do with impeccability. There has never been a claim that any pope is impeccable. I think maybe you just misunderstand what infallibility means.

No person is impeccable or infallible or truthful or saint or whatever else. Papa is worse than you and I, because he assumes the role of God.

Pope Francis, one or two days ago, stated that he is fallible.
And when speaking about the weather or in an impromptu news conference he certainly is fallible. It's only when speaking about faith and morals, speaking in his role as chief teacher of the faith, that we believe he is protected from spouting lies or mistruths. Normally he is fallible. Rarely God will stop him from teaching error, and that for the sake of His Church.

Well if one believes the media and conservative lay Catholic opinions like the blogger in the OP link, the Pope has been claimed to do a lot of things (like promote condom usage, homosexual marriage/priests...etc), which on further investigation are not really true at all if comments made are taken in context. So I remain a supporter and skeptical of such claims.

You have your opinion, based on whatever misunderstanding or malice. I leave you to it.

Folks,
I am not a Catholic but I admire Pope Francis. He seems to be a bit reform minded, which, in my opinion, the church needs in order to attract more followers from the outside. Jesus too was reform minded which brought him into conflict with the religious establishment of his days.
Consider the following statement attributed to Pope Francis: "In a way, the traditional notion of God is outdated. One can be spiritual but not religious."
God bless

Sorry - "Suit yourself" means "It is your choice to believe as you do." There is usually an implication that the person who says, "Suit yourself" to another, also means to express disagreement. In other words, "I think you are wrong, but you show no openness to change or reconsider, so - believe as you want to believe, but you are wrong."

English is full of brief sayings that do have meaning, but they are not obvious in their meaning.
