The two seem far away from each other until you read what God thinks of praying to anyone but Him. What does God say. I am a jealous God.

God is jealous when we WORSHIP others. As we are trying to explain to you, we don't worship Mary. Praying is not worship. It can be worship, but it isn't always. Sometimes prayer is just talking to someone you can't see. We ask the saints to pray for us to the Father through Christ, the exact same as you might ask me to pray for you.
