The Senate can any bill except one that raises revenue (tax bills).
I said normally. What happened was the Democrats stalled and stalled on the bill that passed the House because they did not want more border security, they wanted more votes for Democrats in the future. When enough Democrats, whether it be the mayors of New York or Chicago or other places, kept speaking out the Democrats decided to pull a stunt with a bill that couldn't pass. Then they could say Republicans were against border security. Another con job.

Nevertheless, if there are substantially more apprehensions under Biden than under Trump, it can hardly be alleged that Biden had "open borders," only that he succeeded in apprehending many more immigrants.

The Biden administration inflated its number of reported deportations by conflating the number of illegal immigrants stopped by border agents before they could get inside the United States. Biden's figures may very well hide the success of Trump's immigration enforcement. . .
Deportations have already exceeded 142,000—this is just the beginning. President Trump and Secretary Noem have jump-started an agency that was vilified and barred from doing its job for the last four years,” Homeland Security Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs Tricia McLaughlin told Just the News.
Biden deportation data inflated by 'turnarounds' at border, a stat that now masks Trump success

Doesn't matter. Nearly any bill can start in the Senate and they do all the time. If you want to raise import taxes on goods from China then *THAT* bill would need to start in the House, but the immigration/border bill, perfectly normal to start in the Senate.

The Dems in the Senate didn't "stall" on the House bill, they didn't like it because they thought it was harsh and we're not going to pass it. Period. So the Republican leadership in the Senate negotiated a bill that could pass the Senate and when Trump and Johnson said they would pass it the bill died.

Texaspolicy.com?
I disagree with lots of Texas policies. Sounds like more far-right propaganda.
What I would like to see is what the House bill said, side by side.
I am very concerned with true "refugees" from Ukraine, Afghanistan, war zones throughout the world.
Trump deported refugees with temporary protected status, sending them back although they might face death.
1600 Afghan citizens who helped us in the war have been blocked while 60 lily-white South Africans who never assisted us in any war efforts move ahead. Where are our priorities? Are only white refugees allowed?

"Weaponizing?" That begins to sound like the "great replacement" conspiracy.theory. No one who actually believes in it has sufficient grip on reality to make any meaningful comments.

And they all made it over Trump's wall, lol!
What wall? I dont think it ever got finished. If I have a partially finished wall around my property and people can just go around it and through unfinished areas i dont think its really a wall. Anyway that's my opinion.

Let's see, we have far fewer people who are coming here illegally, which in turn requires less deportations. We have a constant suits against deportations which slows deportations vs more deportations because more illegals were coming and fewer if any suits against deportations which kept the process going.

Can anyone see the difference?

With Trump's wall it was easier just to cut through it with reciprocating saw available for $79.95 (about 1500 Pesos) at convenient Home Depot locations across norhern Mexico.

Please keep talk of skin color out of this, a person's skin color doesn't matter. As I've said, and it wasn't a secret, the Biden administration red tape left many of our allies behind as per the following from NPR and NBC:

"Security in Afghanistan has only deteriorated since Fida's murder, and Afghans who worked with the U.S. military fear the Biden Administration's troop withdrawal has left them with no chance of escape. Taliban forces have made rapid gains across the country on the heels of the U.S. departure, and Afghans who worked with the government or the U.S. have been targeted for reprisals."

As U.S. troops wrap up a withdrawal from Afghanistan, Biden administration officials have struggled to shape a plan to protect Afghans who worked for the U.S. government and now face retribution from the Taliban. Veterans groups, refugee advocates and lawmakers have called for an urgent evacuation and accused the administration of moving too slowly, potentially putting Afghan partners' lives at risk.
After mounting pressure from Congress and an increasingly dire situation on the ground in Afghanistan, the administration now says it will evacuate an unspecified number of Afghans out of the country. President Joe Biden said Thursday the flights could begin this month. But he also suggested most of the Afghans who have applied for visas under a special program will not be flown to U.S. territory, and instead to third countries where their documents will be processed.

Of those who were brought here by the Biden administration there was no way to properly vet many of them, and the Biden administration released many into the population, some secretly to my area.

A right-wing think tank? I don't think I'll put any credence into an org that puts forth a moral case for fossil fuels. (something the laughably do)

Democrats, taking them at their word, should be pleased that somehow, without the Democrat border bill, the Trump administration has been able to secure the border. As to fossil fuels, those fuels come from nature, and those fuels keep people from freezing and power the machinery to bring food and water to so many of the poor and hungry of the world.

I would submit to you that scaring everyone away from the border is not the same as securing it. One is temporary, the other long term.

Only a card carrying Liberal Elitist would suggest a poster manipulated or cherry pickef data to support a narrative.
Nah, there are plenty of people from both sides doing that.

That makes no sense at all - Biden open borders with tens of thousands coming across daily VS Trumps closed border which is seeing 95% less traffic - of course there are fewer apprehension when traffic is 95% less.
