Only a card carrying Liberal Elitist would suggest a poster manipulated or cherry pickef data to support a narrative.

But since the title of the thread is Biden's open borders - Let's take a look shall we -

And that doesn't include the illegal aliens that got away...

So the border wasn't open, just for whatever reason more people were trying to enter the country? How much of that, do you think, might have been influenced by Republicans constantly repeating -- immediately after the election ended -- that under Biden the "border is open." Biden didn't actually change much, from what Trump was doing at the border; which we can see from the number of encounters at the border. It isn't that the border was "open," it was, for some reason, more people thought they could get into the country. Again, who was saying the border was open and anyone could come in?

Since we are using critical thinking - what does the photo above tell you?
It tells me that after the pandemic people in the third world were suffering and desperate. Because of my involvement with missions in Guatemala I know what it was like for them. Desperation inspires desperate measures. Lack of empathy seeks callous answers.

Hogwash - my parent immigrated to the US during WW2 - in perhaps the most deadly time in history -

They were honest enough to do it legally.

You will also notice that the increase was NOT during the pandemic.

If you choose to believe four years of being lied to that the border was closed and secure - that is your choice.

Your meme gives the figures for the COVID year 2020 as it's starting point Vs 2024. Given COVID statistically irrelevant give me 2018/2019.

Hmm...That mean that in the first two years of his administration Biden deported 700,000 more people than Trump did in four years. Let's average that out.

Trump: 518,302 per year
Biden: 1,404,473 per year

As he was with most of his campaign promises, Trump was all talk, no action.

Shouldn't those of you who listen to him employ better critical thinking skills and remember everything he promised and didn't deliver?
<Raises eyebrow>

Uh, no offense intended Fantine, but if you think the people listening to Trump are listening because they are the type who check facts and figures I believe you are the one who has misjudged who they are talking to.

Your parents came at a time when the world was trying to help heal and recover through the Marshall Plan.
Before that, Japanese Americans were interned and desperate Jewish refugees were turned away.
President Trump has been clear. If You're a white South African we'll roll out the red carpet. Everyone else has targets on their backs.
Our country is very different now, and not in a good way.

I think the problem is that many people snuck in or were allowed to enter informally in order to claim asylum. The Conservatives will not admit that claiming asylum makes their presence in the country constructively legal. Biden's "open borders" were conducted entirely according to law.

I know you are not racist, but do you know how racist and ridiculous that statement is? Perhaps you want to rethink that.

My parents and I are NOT Caucasian, we came in legally and the only racisms we have ever experience came from the left.

Perhaps that is why a source have NEVER been cited by you.

How do you know these racists were "left?"

Do remember any of the content of their words? How did you meet them?
uh, I lived in the same neighborhoods as they did.

My graduating high school class was 987 people - shall I name them for you? The guy with the Carter for President who lived across the street and called me racist names every time he saw me, you want his address?

So from that you conclude that liberals are racist?

I said nothing of the like. Let restate it again:
My parents and I are NOT Caucasian, we came in legally and the only racisms we have ever experience came from the left.

I don't know how to state that plainer -

Now I have a question for you. If I had said the only racism we aver experienced came from the right - would you be asking me all the same questions?

I have noticed in this forum quite a bit of confusion about who "The Right" and "The Left" really are not what they really think. Nor do either have a monolithic ideological position. So when you say it "came from the left" you are making a pretty broad generalization. I would ask the same questions if you had said it "came from the Right." There are racist Democrats and some Republicans voted for Carter as well. It is good to be precise about this, because the subject is about how "The Left" (equally vaguely defined) screwed up the border and the accusation of racist motives has been laid against them frequently by Republicans over the matter.
