Then they weren't "yours".

Incorrect. The inventor of a patent is always the presumptive first owner. It requires that they be assigned to the employer per a contract but they were mine upon invention. I had just made an agreement to give up the assignment.

They were your company's

America's patent system is rather unique in the central importance we put on the inventor.

and you get the recognition for it. The company gets the financial benefit. That's how things go when you work for a company.

Nope. That's not how the US patent laws work. The patents are mine but my company asked that I agree to assign them over to them as part of my work contract. That is a separate issue. I gave up my first patents for free.

Once you give them up, they are no longer yours to profit off of. Just having a patent does not guarantee any right to make money from it.

Not sure why your chasing down this rabbit hole.

Just like money! If Jeff Bezos pays money in taxes he no longer has it.

Just having a patent does not guarantee any right to make money from it.

But it is a thing of value which I gave up for free for the greater good. I am simply suggesting that Bezos or other multibillionaires give up some stuff for free for the greater good.

Not sure why your chasing down this rabbit hole.

Because it is an example of someone giving up something for free for the greater good. I am hoping it would be a MODEL for folks like Jeff Bezos and other multibillionaires.

You call it a rabbit hole but those of us in industry call it "items of value".

I have spent a lot of time working with colleagues in Europe. They didn't seem to be suffering.

Meanwhile I wasted most of yesterday fighting with my insurance company and was told, effectively that the insurance company couldn't tell me how much they were going to cover a procedure until after I got the procedure. In ended up taking it in the shorts. I needed the procedure but guess what? They only covered a fraction of the cost! THERE WAS LITERALLY NO WAY FOR ME TO "SHOP AROUND" OR EVEN KNOW HOW MUCH I'D HAVE TO PAY BEFOREHAND.

That's freedom? Yeah.
Get different coverage then.
Here you at least have that option.

This is great news. Biden is trying to serve the American people. We never saw any families plan from Trump, he just tried to tax families to give to the big 1% businesses

A short list would be helpful.
They are literally arresting people for going outside in Australia.
Denmark has the highest taxes in the world.

The temptation of socialism is constantly is luring people with the offer: “give up a little of your freedom and I will give you a little more security.”

In the UK, you can't even carry a pocket knife.

In Canada they are basically putting people in quarantine prison.
And on and on.
Usually the guns are the first to go. Which is what our government is working on now.

None of what you list is true. I'm pretty sure the list that was requested was a list of factual examples, not opinions. In Canada they are not putting people in quarantine prison - half my family lives there and they have the same restrictions I have in the US. Nothing different.

If you can't back up your position with facts then most of us won't take it seriously.

No, that is not an option in the US. For the incredibly few cases where getting better coverage is technically an option it wouldn't be a reasonable option because it would be cost prohibitive.

Can't look up something non-existent. If you try looking up "leprechauns riding pink aardvarks in Walmart" you'll find nothing. "Quarantine imprisonment in Canada" brings the same result - nothing. Which is why your backup for your claim is - nothing.

Plus I have a lot of family in Canada and they say there's no such thing as "Quarantine Imprisonment".

"Canadian Federal court has ruled that Justins covid hotels violate the Canadian Charter. It looks like the case will end up going to trial in June. I think the outcome is pretty certain now though.

Anyone not familiar with this draconian policy, it required returning Canadians to isolate in a guarded hotel for at least three days upon their arrival back to Canada. They were forced to pay for these expenses, and the conditions and food in these places were sub par at best. The government says this will cost you at least $2000, . Reports of theft and sexual abuse are coming out of these places too. Keep in mind these travellers entered the country with a negative covid test.

The Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms released a statement that the court involved in striking the injunction is not the same court that issued it in the first place. The ruling found that this type of "forced" confinement possibly contravenes section seven, and nine, of the charter. So it will be resolved by trial.

The justice centres litigation director Jay Cameron said, " The forced isolation of returning Canadian air travellers is arbitrary, unnecessary, and totalitarian. These quarantine hotels and restrictive measures are more consistent with a dictatorship than a free society."

Maybe there's hope for the Canadians yet!

Nothing about "Quarantine prisons"... Of course, no source listed also, probably a conspiracy theory website.

Pretty good for a chuckle though
