It seems like a big parcel of land but actually i heard it was only the size of Northland in nz...in terms of size thats quite a small area. But that land is all inhabited there arent vast tracts of desert or mountainous areas.

Also interesting is the inheritence of the five sisters, who had no brothers...their ineritance of the land was secured. But they has to speak up about it.

I was wondering about the size of the land myself, however when they used to word "towns" I thought it to be somewhat smaller than what was in my mind originally.

Yeah, I thought that was interesting too! But I'm sure once they had sons the land would automatically go to them or something like that.

Yes, the wicked boast of their desires. How true. Also, they dont care about the poor.

How many times have i heard people say to me they want this or that that that they dont have, that belongs to soneone else. Its covetousness, and modern advertising/marketing encourages this. People then start demanding things. Its especially targeted at children, marketing ppl call it pester power.

I guess it goes right back to false advertising of the 'fruit that makes you wise' in the garden. Eve didnt read the fine print * also it will kill you*

It also appears to me that the focus feature of the wicked David pleads justice against in these three Psalms is the kind of evil deeds that modern society might call a crime that has direct victims. Where the wicked here create schemes that benefit them at the expense of the poor and the innocent, or where others suffer for their personal gain. I suppose King David saw a lot of such people in his time. And he himself was not immune to the temptation, proving that when he made the unfortunate error of taking Uriah's wife for himself and setting up Uriah to be killed in battle.

Yea I don't understand King David I mean didn't he already have lots of wives? Why was he going after Bathesheba wasn't he married at the time? It wasn't as if he had no-one, surely.

He has had four wives in all throughout his life, I believe: Saul's daughter Michal, Bathsheba, and two others whose names I do not remember (Abilgail was one of them, perhaps?). I think he was single when he first saw Bathsheba and sent for her, though. Still, great a sin as it was to cover her and make her husband Uriah pay for David's misdeed, just goes to show you how God's mercy and love allows for one to come back from even crimes as great as that, crimes that even most unbelievers would not dream of doing. We do see, certainly, that when confronted by his prophet friend Nathan about it, David is earnestly sorry for what he's done. And then his overall life and actions prove sufficient for God to call even David "a man after My own heart."

I'll admit I have no idea what all of 22 is about, who Eliakim is or the "valley of vision" that the whole chapter seems to be about.

I couldn't help but notice the prophecy of Jesus in 22, if my ears didn't deceive me.

Isaiah 22:22-25

And I will clothe him with thy robe, and strengthen him with thy girdle, and I will commit thy government into his hand: and he shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the house of Judah.

And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; so he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open.

And I will fasten him as a nail in a sure place; and he shall be for a glorious throne to his father's house.

And they shall hang upon him all the glory of his father's house, the offspring and the issue, all vessels of small quantity, from the vessels of cups, even to all the vessels of flagons. In that day, saith the LORD of hosts, shall the nail that is fastened in the sure place be removed, and be cut down, and fall; and the burden that was upon it shall be cut off: for the LORD hath spoken it.

Correct me if I am wrong, I just couldn't help the similarities here.

Yes I read that too, but just wondering who exactly eliakim is in chapter 22, yes sorry. It points to Jesus for sure. I will need to do some research to see if hes mentioned anywhere else.

Also he is in the geneology of Jesus.

I think I just had my mind somewhere else when reading this particular chapter, as I just kept pondering what the "valley of vision" was supposed to be about the whole time when I saw the words at the beginning. ... But it makes sense that God is still talking about Christ, as it seems to be a recurring theme here in Isaiah so far that redemption and Christ are mentioned every so often after a bout of prophecies concerning the downfall and destruction of wayward peoples and nations, as though restoration is what God has ultimately in mind at the end of it all, perhaps, I dare say, that it brings Him more glory than His chastisements do.
