I think the best place to take photos is the place that you know the best. It's easy to find a place where the scenery does all the work for you. But I think it is better in a place that you are familiar with and can be truly creative.
I agree,
If you live in a place where the scenery is great and pictures are a dime a dozen.
Show us something we don't see. You live there, let the tourists take the shots
of the beaches and comon scenery.
Show us whats special to you.

Like I said before, Trash can be a great picture if you do it right.
What I am saying is be creative. Every picture is different.
angles, lighting, weather, emotion, age, nothing stays the same. Even 2 pictures in the exact same spot are different some how.

My favorite picture of the bay of San Francisco is my favorite picture.(posted on another post in Photography.)
Lots of people have taken a picture form the same spot. But none are the same.

I have loved Photography since I was 10, but never had a good camera or money to develop film quickly(years later I have developed pictures)
But now with Digital Cameras I can click, develop, print or email them in minutes. So I get a better feedback. And can improve.

My first camera was a cheap kodak 127film camera.

where do you consider to be the best places for taking them?
We live by the river, so that usually is the best place for us.
