  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Don't try to get bigger by just eating ..... if you do get bigger, it won't be the bigger that you want.

Do a little research and get busy on a workout program. You will add strength as well as some size. Big thing to keep in mind though: Genetics play a huge role in your body type.... lots of people ignore this fact when they begin to work out and then wonder why their results are so different than other peoples.

It does depend on your body size and genetics. I am 155 pounds and it is due to my genetics and my bones. If you weigh in-between 95-110 pounds is due to bones and genetics. So look at that on that perspective.

What he said. ;) The size of your muscles hasn't got a thing compared to the size of your heart.

You know, I understand that statement. I'm a gal and I'm just shy of 6' and built like I can break you in two. I've had nicknames such as: Xena, Princess Warrior and Chyna (as in the wrestler). I'm a girl. I'm suppose to be petite and cute.

You must come to accept yourself for who you are. It's hard and most days I have trouble. I've come to understand that I'm made this way for a reason (although I haven't found that reason yet ;) ). You're perfect the way you are!
Wanna arm wrestle? ;) :D

skinny people usually have fast metabolisms, and thus it's virtually impossible to put on weight fast. Even if you do it's hard to keep it on. You can do it with hard work and patience, but I'm sorry to say I don't think you'll ever be that big.

I can eat like a beast, doesn't help me gain weight at all.
I have to gourge myself to gain a few pounds, and eat
regularly just to maintain my weight.

I must tell you though, that you can tone your muscles
to make them more defined, it doesn't take an extreme
amount of work to do that. Excercise daily, and do push
ups and situps. Its not like you don't have the muscles
just because you are skinny...also I am a living testimony
that you can work to make your muscles bigger. Muscles
are more dense than fat, and weighs more as well.
Putting fat on your body wouldn't be the wisest way to
build weight, unless of course you are like me and have
null fat and all muscle. (not bragging, I just really don't
have much fat at all :)) Not that I look big at all...which
I don't. When you goto the grocery store, overload your
arms with groceries so that its a weight lifting excercise
as you do it, that is just one example. Do you have any
friends who you could wrestle with? Eh, just some suggestions.

But yes, fast metabolism has a lot to do with it. Most certainly
if you do gain weight, you must continue to do what it is that
you did to gain that weight, it will go away quick. Its a bad
thing for me to miss a meal.

Shinja

dear bryan,

hey i'm another girl here. You know what? sometimes I look at some girls and think hey I wish I had her boobs maybe guys would like me better. And in order for me to get that size I need to be overweight! heck I know many women feel this way and then I think well maybe God will let me live longer than those women or have a more comfortable life than the others to make up for it. Who knows...maybe God has something special planned for you which those other guys won't be or have.

You're not "supposed to be big" just because you are a guy. You are supposed to be who God made you to be--nothing more, nothing less. While it is true that you can work hard to build up some bulk, never let that be the source of your self-worth. It is purely physical and really counts for NOTHING in the end--just a few moments of vanity here on earth. Is it worth it?

Why is it that we listen to the world's view of what we should look like? who we should be? how thin or how muscular we ought to be?

Is not God's creation His own unique and wonderous work? Why are we as humans any different? Our body is God's temple.. our hearts the holy of holies, thus we should keep care of these temples to the best of our abilities, but not compare or look and pine for something we do not have.

I am guilty of it myself, but am trying to change that and this thread, thankfully reminded me again to forsake such acts and abandon myself to God and His design. His design is best, thankfully!

lol tell me about it! ive tried i went to a gym for 3 months (3 times a week) and well put on some weight, but not enough to justify the cost of the gym... lol
im pretty skinny, but hey thats me, and im happy the way i am. :)
but i do know how you feel mate, there are times when i just think "if only i had a bigger body/more muscles" but no use dwelling on it.

i am thinking of going to a gym again, but not for weight gaining purposes, im going there to get fit (and tone up).

Good man! You'll never have a purpose for going to a gym if weight is what you're after. Weight is reletive to each individual. Fitness, however, will always give you a purpose to go to a gym as it can always get better.
