Yes, its called "asking for forgiveness" Just saying Thanks wont do it.

Anything past that or other then that can be considered a waist of time.

Much like spellcheck, but I digress.

The vast majority of Christianity disagrees with you, thankfully.

Matthew 3:15 And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer [it to be so] now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.

Jesus already fulfilled all the righteous requirements to be Israels' Messiah. And, as a Jew, Jesus met all the requirements of the Law.

To be baptized is to identify yourself with. In this case, Jesus needed to identify himself with sinners, since saving sinners was the purpose of his earthly sojourn.

John 3:22-30 (New International Version)

John the Baptist's Testimony About Jesus

22After this, Jesus and his disciples went out into the Judean countryside, where he spent some time with them, and baptized. 23Now John also was baptizing at Aenon near Salim, because there was plenty of water, and people were constantly coming to be baptized. 24(This was before John was put in prison.) 25An argument developed between some of John's disciples and a certain Jew[a] over the matter of ceremonial washing. 26They came to John and said to him, "Rabbi, that man who was with you on the other side of the Jordan—the one you testified about—well, he is baptizing, and everyone is going to him."
John 4:1 (New International Version)

John's baptism is not the same as our baptism. He baptized with water only, our baptism is done with water and the Holy Spirit.

John’s baptism was a public profession making way for what was coming- the Holy Spirit which when baptized now as Christians, with water and the Spirit (John 3) the Holy Spirit comes and changes us from Adam’s seed to Christ’s seed.

Like Peter said not referring to John’s but ours, “Baptism now saves you.”

Ok, now Christ and His immediate disciples were water baptizing at the same time as John the Baptist!

Both Christ and His immediate disciples were water baptizing in His name (by His authority) the baptism of repentance.

John the Baptist was baptizing under his authority (in his name) the water baptism of repentance and telling his converts to believe on the One who was to come after him, the Christ.

No one is recorded as having to be re-baptized who were water baptized in the name of Christ, only those who were water baptized by John the Baptist are recorded as having to be re-baptized. (Acts 19:1-5)

Therefore, Jesus and His immediate disciples were not water baptizing people with the baptism of John!

i myself did not know him, but the REASON i came baptizing with water was that he might be revealed to isreal. SO lets see it was done so that what might happen? read matthew 3:15 Let it be so NOW; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness." Then john consented. So we see it was to fulfill all righteousness. the old testement was righteousness. and his work on the cross was all righteousness. so if him being water baptized fulfilled ALL righteousness why must we do it to get all the righteousness. So he did NOT do it to show us the right way to get water baptized. HARDLY. if you wish to add to it go ahead. it should not hurt you, though it has been a burden on the unity of the Church. HOW, tell me why we have so many different types of denom and and groups split within denom. its not the only one but is certainly a clear one. why do it how do you do it who do yo do it two. if it was a clear command it would have been told us all the right ways and hows and whos. IT is clear it was just for association with the group called christians, or The Way or what they might have called themselves at that point.
