Or it could be you misunderstand what the text says. Did the flood wipe out life all over the world, or just in that land? The text can be read either way.Was God mistaken? He did not intend to wipe out all of mankind (except for those on the ark)?
Notice the change I made next to my wanted poster avatar
quote from FSTDT: From what I've seen, LLJ is a bit of a bible-quoting robot. Often he posts things in General Apologetics that are quite off-topic. At least he doesn't call Atheists deluded unlike most Christians. I think that he's too far gone to be saved at this point.
I look to the living God, the Author of His living Word, that is like a sword, cutting through the marrow and sinew. It records the mind of God.
And did you find "word" capitalized (Word) in that passage. LittleLambofJesus quotes Hebrews 4:12, but he seems to have capitalized "word" where it is not in any of the English translations or in the Greek.
This thread is absolute proof of macroevolution. What were we talking about again?
Tis true. And did you find "word" capitalized (Word) in that passage. LittleLambofJesus quotes Hebrews 4:12, but he seems to have capitalized "word" where it is not in any of the English translations or in the Greek.
Not only the topic, but brinny's avatar, too. I think it's undergone random mutation 3 or 4 times in the course of this thread!
interpretation? Whose? Man's? Inexplicably, limited, finite, man? are you serious?

Of course I am serious. Who else is going to interpret the text? Even if you say "the Bible is inerrant" or "the Bible is literal", that is a human interpretation.
Are you seriously going to tell me that God dictated the Bible word for word? That is what Muslims believe about the Quran.
Tis true.
The greek didn't have punctuation or even verses #s. They are all added according to the Translators.
It was a personal preference for me, whether the greek shows it or not

So you can use the bone to overlay muscles on the bones. From the muscles, it is a simple step to adding skin over the muscles and voila! you have the shape of the individual.
All this is familiar to anyone who has ever watched "Walking with Dinosaurs" or other programs where prehistoric beasts are reconstructed. It is always explained. We simply thought you knew.
Thank you.Going to the site you mentioned, let's first look at John 1:1 in the Latin Vulgate:
"1:1 in principio erat Verbum et Verbum erat apud Deum et Deus erat Verbum"
Now let's look at Hebrews 4:12:
"4:12 vivus est enim Dei sermo et efficax et penetrabilior omni gladio ancipiti et pertingens usque ad divisionem animae ac spiritus conpagum quoque et medullarum et discretor cogitationum et intentionum cordis"
The word "Verbum" does not appear at all! Nor is there any capitalization except for "Dei" (God). We have "sermo" which is Latin for "spoken", not the same word used in John 1:1. But you make the English words the same!
Oh, yes, you really are exercising a "personal preference", aren't you? And making your own private interpretation of scripture in the process that attempts to change Christian theology.
Man is flawed, finite, and but dust.
As you are aware, God Himself says that His thoughts are not ours.
It is also written that the Holy Spirit teaches God's children Himself in understanding, and wisdom and discernment in God's Word. Is this not true?
These bones were found near "Lucy":
Look what they came up with:
I don't know the name, but I saw some TV show where they had a reconstruction graphic artist, and he talked about how his favorite thing about his job was being able to use his imagination to "create" animals from some raw data. It showed him making up some multicolored feathered dinosaur that looked like a Johnny Weir costume. Amazing science.
Thank you.
Then tell me why the NKJV capitalizes "word" in Reve 19:13 and not in Hebrews 4. It is the exact form of the greek word used in both verses. Thanks
